The rifle was apparently an old WW2 vintage Carcano, mail ordered from some surplus store. Oswald was apparently a pretty good shot though. He killed a Texas Police Officer during his attempted getaway so he was guilty or thought he was guilty of JFK's murder. The big question is why the CIA and the FBI welcomed a traitor back from Russia with his KGB bride during the cldest part of the Cold War.

Anybody here want to tell Whitehall what a dumbass he is that there was never any evidence he killed tippet or oswald,he put me on ignore when I took him to school and proved him wrong.
 
That motorcade was moving a lot less than 40mph. It was just strolling along. Oswald was a good shot...and there was most likely at least one other "good shot" involved as well. They made sure the job got done but in the end Oswald would take the blame. CIA magnum opus.
