If im not mistaken, ABC, NBC and CBS have special licenses that give them old school perks that all other networks dont get, but they are under stricter rules. Technically speaking, most channels (including our news channels) can use swear words, but the original 3 letter networks cant.

Jimmy Kimmel has every right to criticize Charlie Kirk as much as he wants. Kimmel's speech is protected by the First Amendment and there is no ambiguity about that, no matter how much Trump and the MAGA followers hate Kimmel's guts.
