Kimmel's late night show was cancelled because it was losing ratings and the majority of the affiliate stations didn't want to carry it. If Kimmel was cancelled he wouldn't be hosting Who Wants to be a Millionaire anymore either. Try again.

For the record, the First Amendment makes no exception for "lies". It says "Congress shall make no law.. abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press.." Where is the exception?

Now that we have cable TEE VEE, streaming, and social media, it does seem to be an outdated government interference in the market.
The Federal Trade Commission is probably more than enough regulation to prevent anti-competitive monopolization. But that is, and has largely been, a toothless agency for protecting consumers for decades now. Much like the FCC.

The question remains did what kimmel say violate obscenity or indecency laws under the FCC up to 10pm? Their only job when it comes to speech regulation is making sure there's no cursing or sexual content. That is it! Threatening to fine or even pull the broadcasting license of a company for anything else outside this jurisdiction is a first amendment violation. Why do you hate free speech so much? Hmmm
