We, the people, are the rightful masters of both congress and the courts – not to overthrow the constitution, but to overthrow men who pervert the constitution. ~ Abe Lincoln, 16thPresident of the United States

Cloward-Piven Strategy

Upon reviewing the Cloward-Piven.com website (2009), I found what drives the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) and Obama’s quest to fundamentally transform the United States of America. We call this driver or forcing function the Cloward-Piven Strategy. Indeed, the strategy is very scary, as it appears to be the forcing function of what Obama has been implementing in the United States.

Cloward-Piven is a strategy for forcing political change through orchestrated crisis. Columbia University political scientists Richard Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven created this plan to bankrupt the welfare system and produce radical change. They first proposed the strategy in 1966. Also known as the “crisis strategy” or the “flood-the-rolls, bankrupt-the-cities strategy,” the Cloward-Piven approach called for swamping the welfare rolls with new applicants—more than the system could bear. They had hoped that the resulting economic collapse would lead to political turmoil and ultimately socialism (Cloward & Piven, 2009).

The National Welfare Rights Organization (NWRO), founded by African-American militant George Alvin Wiley, put the Cloward-Piven strategy to work in the streets. Its activities led directly to the welfare crisis that bankrupted New York City in 1975. Veterans of NWRO went on to found the Living Wage Movement and the Voting Rights Movement, both of which rely on the Cloward-Piven strategy and both of which the radical cult ACORN spearhead. Both the Living Wage and Voting Rights movements depend heavily on financial support from George Soros’s Open Society Institute (Cloward & Piven, 2009).

The Watts riots inspired Cloward and Piven (2009) to develop a new strategy for social change. In November 1965, barely three months after the Watts fires had subsided, Cloward and Piven privately circulated copies of an article they had written called “Mobilizing the Poor: How it Could Be Done.” Six months later (on May 2, 1966), they published it in The Nation, under the title, “The Weight of the Poor: A Strategy to End Poverty.” The article electrified the Left. Following its May 2, 1966, publication, The Nation sold an unprecedented 30,000 reprints. Activists were abuzz over the so-called “crisis strategy” or “Cloward-Piven strategy,” as it came to be called. Many were eager to put it into effect.

The Cloward-Piven strategy never achieved its goal of system breakdown and a Marxist utopia. However, it provided a blueprint for some of the Left’s most destructive campaigns of the 1970s, ‘80s, and ‘90s. It will likely haunt America for years to come since George Soros’s Shadow Party has now adopted the strategy. Radicals have honed it into a far more efficient weapon than any of its Sixties-era promoters could have foreseen (Cloward & Piven, 2009).

The Cloward-Piven strategy seeks to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse. Application of this strategy contributed greatly to the turmoil of the late Sixties. Cloward-Piven failed to usher in socialism, but it succeeded in generating an economic crisis and in escalating the level of political violence in America – two cherished goals of hard-Left strategists. Both the Living Wage and Voting Rights movements depend heavily on financial support from George Soros’s Open Society Institute. Thanks largely to money from Soros that the Cloward-Piven strategy continues even now to eat away at America’s political and economic infrastructure (Cloward & Piven, 2009).

Jim Simpson (2008), former White House staff economist and budget analyst, reported that America waited anxiously while Washington struggled to bring the U.S. economy back from the brink of disaster in the fall of 2008. However, many of those same politicians (Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Charlie Schumer, Maxine Waters, et al.) caused the crisis, and if left to their own devices will do so again. Despite the mass media (lame-stream media) news blackout, a series of books, talk radio, and the blogosphere have managed to expose Barack Obama’s connections to his radical mentors—Weather Underground bombers William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, Communist Party member Frank Marshall Davis, and others. David Horowitz and his Discover the Networks.org have also contributed a wealth of information and have noted Obama’s radical connections since the beginning.

Simpson (2008) further wrote that, yet, no one, to knowledge, has yet connected all the dots between Barack Obama and the Radical Left. When seen together, the influences on Obama’s life comprise a Who’s Who of the radical leftist movement. Additionally, it becomes painfully apparent that not only is Obama a willing participant in that movement, he has spent most of his adult life deeply immersed in it. However, even this does not fully describe the extreme nature of this man. We can tie him directly to a malevolent overarching strategy that has motivated many, if not all, of the most destructive radical leftist organizations in the United States since the 1960s.

Simpson (2008) further stated that the liberal record of unmitigated legislative disasters, the latest of which played out in the financial markets right before our eyes. Before the 1994 Republican takeover, Democrats had 60 years of virtually unbroken power in Congress—with substantial majorities most of the time. Studying issue after issue for years on end with virtually unlimited resources at their command, can a group of smart people not come up with a single policy that works? Why are they chronically incapable? Why? One of two things must be true. Either the Democrats are unfathomable idiots who ignorantly pursue ever more-destructive policies despite decades of contrary evidence or they understand the consequences of their actions and relentlessly carry on anyway because they somehow benefit.

Simpson (2008) wrote further that they understand the consequences. For many, it is simply a practical matter of eliciting votes from a targeted constituency at taxpayer expense. We lose a little; they gain a lot; and the politician keeps his job. However, for others, the goal is more malevolent—the failure is deliberate. Do not laugh. This method not only has its proponents, it has a name: the Cloward-Piven Strategy. It describes their agenda, tactics, and long-term strategy.

Simpson (2008) finally reported that Barack Obama, the Cloward-Piven promoter, no matter how he describes himself, has been a radical activist for most of his political career. That activism has been in support of organizations and initiatives that, at their heart, seek to tear the pillars of this nation asunder in order to replace them with their demented socialist vision. Their influence has spread so far and so wide that, despite their blatant culpability in the current financial crisis, they are able to manipulate Capitol Hill politicians to cut them into $140 billion of the bailout pie! God grant those few responsible yet remaining in Washington, D.C., the strength to prevent this massive fraud from occurring. God grant them the courage to stand up in the face of this Marxist tidal wave.

Nancy Coppock (2009) wrote in the American Thinker that using borrowed money for a band-aid bailout of the economy should seem backwards to most people. However, it likely is a planned strategy to promote radical change. Those who naively believe that President Obama is simply rewarding his far-left base and will then move to the political center must wise up. The assumption that Obama will need the nation to prosper in order to protect the 2010 mid-term election incorrectly assumes that he esteems free market capitalism. He does not. Rather than win through superior ideas and policies, the Democrat plan for success in the mid-term elections is to win by destroying political opposition. Obama adheres to the Saul Alinksy Rules for Radicals method of politics, which teaches the dark art of destroying political adversaries. However, that text reveals only one front in the radical left’s war against America. The Cloward-Piven Strategy is another method employed by the radical Left to create and manage crisis. This strategy explains Rahm Emanuel’s ominous statement, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste.”

Coppock (2009) further wrote that the goal of the Cloward-Piven Strategy is to overthrow capitalism by overwhelming the government bureaucracy with entitlement demands. The created crisis provides the impetus to bring about radical political change. Making an already weak economy even worse is the intent of the Cloward-Piven Strategy. It is imperative that we view the American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan as spending on items like food stamps, jobless benefits, and health care through this end goal. This strategy explains why the Democrat plan to “stimulate” the economy involves massive deficit spending projects. It includes billions for ACORN and its subgroups such as Self-Help Homeownership Opportunity Program (SHOP) and the Neighborhood Stabilization Program. Expanding the S-Chip Program through deficit spending in a supposed effort to save the children only makes a faltering economy worse.

Coppock (2009) wrote further that, because deficit spending finances these programs, the effect of the Cloward-Piven Strategy becomes doubly destructive. Talk about a perfect storm! The Democrat stimulus plan is a mechanism whose goal is the destruction of the traditional American way of life. It is ironic that the American taxpayer will actually fund the destruction of his own ability to live according to the values of our Founding Documents. It is not alarmist to identify this situation as a coup d’état. As the flow of money from the top of the economy dries up, job losses and mortgage busts will mount exponentially. The Democrat stimulus plan provides for welfare expansion but not for a robust economy, that creates high paying jobs. Is this what Obama means when he warns, “It’s going to get worse before it gets better?” If we are not bailing out corporate America so they can regain profitability, we must conclude that Obama is working toward another end goal. Recognizing these attack methods reveals the only logical response—an unwavering wall of “No!”

Seeing what has happened over the past two years, I have come to the following conclusions:

The democrats applied the Cloward-Piven Strategy to cause the severe economic problems for the country with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mack in the fall of 2008 just before the November elections.
With the help of the democrats, that forced President Bush to expedite legislation to bail out the American International Group, Inc (AIG) and other banks in the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) bailout.
The voter fraud crooks at ACORN cheated enough in the battleground states to cause Obama to steal the presidency.
Further applying the Cloward-Piven Strategy, the democrats spent our country into oblivion by nationalizing the banking industry, automobile industry, and housing industry for the purpose of crashing the economy and causing record debts and very high unemployment rates.
The democrats will continue to deficit spend with the Cap and Trade (really, Cap and Tax), Obamacare Plan, and more stimulus/pork-barrel legislation to further increase our national debt.
A severe economic crisis will occur in 2011 (hyperinflation, stagflation, or depression), and Obama will:
take full control of the country as a dictator,
nationalize the media/press,
ignore the 1stand 2ndamendments of the Constitution,
build a civilian force equivalent to the military,
throw opponents into the detention camps he is currently building on military posts and bases, and
Indoctrinate further our schoolchildren.
Scary times are ahead of us, folks. We must not let the left-wing extremists in Washington, D.C., achieve their aim, which is to take control of our lives and destroy the freedoms and liberties we have enjoyed in the past. Citizens of the United States of America (USA), we must unite and keep the radicals from turning America into a European-style Marxist-socialist state!

Creating Pseudo-Crises

Michael Fumento (2009), director of the Independent Journalism Project, reported in the New York Post that swine (H1N1) flu is a massively overrated threat. Not only in the media overrates it, but also the World Health Organization (WHO), the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, and others who have a duty to know better overrates it. The presidential science council warned in late August 2009 that, “in a plausible scenario,” swine flu might kill 90,000 Americans with the epidemic peaking in “mid-October [2009].” However, it is now obvious that this did not happen.

Fumento (2009) further reported that total deaths since August 30, 2009, from “Influenza and Pneumonia-Associated” illness are 1,397, reports the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Website FluView (cdc.gov/flu/weekly/). However, only 192 of those have been laboratory-confirmed as flu of any type. (Moreover, yes, people die of pneumonia from many causes other than flu.) In fact, FluView reports that deaths from influenza and pneumonia are well within the normal bounds for this time of year – or, as the CDC puts it, “below the epidemic threshold.” Repeat, there is no flu epidemic. There will be, but only because we have one every year.

Fumento (2009) added that only about a fifth of the samples that even doctors (much less scared patients) suspect may show swine flu turn out not to show influenza of any type. Another indicator of hysteria is that, despite all the signs that new flu cases are dropping, the percentage of visits to emergency rooms and outpatient clinics by people worried they have the flu—and worried enough to seek medical attention—is incredibly high, i.e., about 5 percent of all U.S. emergency visits now. That is, scared people have indeed swamped emergency rooms, and schools closed. However, it was not flu-driven; instead, it was fear-driven. Bottom line: Do not expect a presidential council to be interested in statistics, or the media to let facts get in the way of a sensational story. However, if you want information instead of entertainment, just get the facts for yourself.

Obama’s Current Plan

For Obama to succeed in his dastardly Cloward-Piven strategy/plan, he must make the following occur soon:

Stock market crash
Extreme deficit spending, which negates needing an annual budget (that is why the Congress is not preparing one for 2011)
Skyrocketing national debt
Continuous 24/7 Fed printing of currency that is not backed by gold
Collapsing of the U.S. dollar
Failure of a thousand banks
Skyrocketing interest rates
Hyperinflation or stagflation
Unemployment going over 20-25%
Collapsing of the economy
The greatest depression in the history of the world
Get prepared for the collapse of the worldwide economy. This is not a sky is falling scare. It is all part of Obama’s grand methodical plan to make the above bullets happen—and soon. We must fight this pursuit of Marxist-socialism and end the momentum even before November 2, 2010. If not, we all will be very sorry we did not take it all seriously. The result will be the open formation of the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP)/North American Union (NAU) and a New World Order (NOW) by the wicked Bilderberg Group. If you do not act now—remember, I told you so.

Conclusion

We would be mistaken to believe the Cloward-Piven Strategy is a scheme concocted by academic Marxists with the “New Left” leaning dedicated to destroying capitalism in the name of a vaguely defined humanitarianism. Specifically, “the destruction of capitalism in America by swelling the welfare rolls to the point of collapsing our economy and then implementing socialism by nationalizing many private institutions” is a detailed plan by the global elite to consolidate power and destroy all opposition. The Strategy will not liberate the proletariat but will subject them to a banker-engineered “world-socialism, scientifically planned and directed” and devised to transform the world into a banker-dominated, high-tech prison or forced labor camp for political dissidents (Nimmo, 2009). The Obama administration is building Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) National Emergency Centers (NECs) just for this purpose.

The bottom line is that the Cloward-Piven Strategy is dangerous, evil, and not fit for the America we know. Evil people who desire to control the population promote and apply the Cloward-Piven Strategy. We must stop those who apply this strategy to bring about the fundamental transformation of the USA to a Marxist-socialist country. That must not stand.
