That ain't gona happen either. They do not seem to have that much foresight.
Honestly, the best way through is the current initiative where individual states are coming together to award their EC votes to the popular winner. It is far easier to convince a state rather than a political party that it's interests are not served in a political contest that utterly ignores them for a few minor swing states.
