Texas Democrats flee the state to Illinois.

Remember the old "Snake on the Lake" in OH.

I think they finally busted it up but it had to be continuous so they would send out people to make sure the lake had not rose and made it noncontinuous.

It "slithered" across five counties, never taking in a whole county.

Once again, Trump violates rules and Republicans rush to defend his violation with "the both sides do it" defense and of course they are the victims.

Before I start, let me state that gerrymandering needs to end, so does the fillibuster and the electoral college. And yes, both sides gerrymander.

There has not been one time I can recall a Democratic president calling a governor to ask him to redraw a map in order to give Democrats an advantage. Furthermore, republicans are always cackling about how elections beong to the states.

ALL RISE!

Todays lesson

Texas Republicans, including Gov. Abbott, were reluctant to redraw the state’s congressional maps. Then Trump got involved.

Before he called lawmakers back to Austin to redraw Texas’ congressional maps, Gov. Greg Abbott was initially resistant to the plan pushed by President Donald Trump’s political team to pick up new GOP seats through a rare mid-decade redistricting, according to two people who have spoken to Abbott and the White House about the behind-the-scenes discussions.

The majority of Texas’ GOP congressional delegation was also wary of the idea, with many members concerned that Republican map-drawers could miscalculate and spread their voters too thin — thus putting their jobs in jeopardy — while trying to flip Democratic seats, six people involved in internal delegation discussions told The Texas Tribune.

Abbott told House Republicans from Texas that he was reluctant to take up the issue in Austin, where state lawmakers approve the new lines, if it would pit him against the delegation. In discussions with Abbott’s office, White House staffers attempted to assuage his worries but were unsuccessful, according to two people with direct knowledge of the developments.

Then, Trump placed a call to Abbott during which they discussed redistricting. The governor subsequently agreed to put it on his agenda for the special session, according to two people who spoke with White House officials about the call, one of whom also discussed the matter with Abbott's office.

Democrats have already gerrymandered most of their states, giving them unequal representation as compared to the ratio of dems to republicans. And, in both California and New York, democrats gerrymandered their districts and then passed laws against gerrymandering after they had already gerrymandered. Republicans have a lot of catching up to do.

So? Show me all the motherfucking ballots where illegal immigrants have voted, and all the fake ballots that were cast for Biden in 2020.
Ahh, how little you know.

Let's start with the census. It determines the apportionment of House seats in each state. By counting illegals in the census, you affect the apportionment process. If you have any modicum of imagination, you can see how their numbers impact the number of seats any given state may or may not have.

Do they need to vote? No? Are they voting? That is unknown, not unproven. But by merely being here and impacting the census numbers, they are already affecting a democratic process they aren't entitled to participate in.

The really exciting part for Texas is it's the fastest growing state in the Union. Only Texas gained two seats after the 2020 census. They are projected to add three more in 2030. So to add five right now, would really made eight in 2030. That' great for the GOP. California and New York, on the other hand each lost a seAT because people are sick of Marxism. Due to the population shift, the red states scored a net gain of three seats in 2020. It should be more by 2030, particularly if that Communist wins mayor in NYC.

What ya gonna do, loser? You are part of the loser party. America rejected you in November, and your approval has nosedived since then, loser.

I suggest you try to figure out how to deal with being such a loser.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Of course, because they engaged in the gerrymandering practice long before Texas. There are about 15-16 states, all liberal, that did so before Texas.
/-----/ democRATs motto: Don't do as we do; do as we say.

Furthermore, demographic shifts in the census can be impacted by illegal immigrants, too, giving rise to the gerrymandering process we've seen in the past.

Actually the democrats in Texas drew the last map so they could get the most seats in the Texas legislature. The problem is that the republicans want to redraw it. They are trying to take away the democrats advantage. The democrats know full well that if it is redrawn in even close to a decent way they loose a big advantage.

I will be scolding the next Democratic president who calls a governor and tells them to redistrict so Democrats can stay in the majority. The game is over, punk. Republicans no longer get to do dirt then whine as if Democrats are the cheaters because they respond.
Your lunatic rants sound like the Mass Governor saying she would retaliate against Abbott by redistricting her state………..despite there not being a single Republican member in Congress.

Yes, you are THAT stupid.

Gov. Gavin Newsom welcomed a delegation of Texas state representatives who left their state before a vote to redistrict congressional lines in the Lone Star State.

llo
Texas Republicans are trying to redraw congressional maps, a move that would make more districts red. But, Texas Democrats left the state so they couldn’t hold the vote.

Newsom and those Texas Democrats are calling on other states to help them hold the line on what they say is a Trump-mandated power grab.

What Texas Republicans are doing it clearly a move based on desperation.. They are so very afraid of losing their very slim majority in the House of Representatives. California and state with Democratic Majorities plan redistricting moves as well. Governor Abbott and Costello has no power to Texas Dems from their seats. Governor Newsom and Democratic Governors are moving to block Texas power grab. Good for him.
People who run from their jobs instead of doing them don't deserve their jobs. What did they think this was? A notoriety contest?

Sit your asses down in that seat and vote.
