Is this the final word..or must we go through yet some more hoops to resolve this issue.
Well...The Virginia Supreme court needs to weigh in--but it does appear that the redistricting will stand.
Like it or not, Gerrymandering is a part of American politics..and the courts will not step in.

A Virginia court ruled in favor of Democrats in a case concerning the Old Dominion’s congressional lines on Sunday, denying a last-minute Republican effort challenging Democrats’ redistricting referendum and the composition of the new House map passed by voters.

Richmond Circuit Court Judge Tracy Thorne-Begland denied a request by the Republican National Committee (RNC), Virginia GOP and others to block the results of a redistricting referendum held last week, when voters narrowly passed a set of congressional lines that gives Democrats four additional pickup opportunities in November.

The Virginia congressional delegation currently has a 6-5 Democratic edge, but the new map would give the party a 10-1 edge in November.

“This Court knows its role is clear. It is not to assess the wisdom of public policy nor to engage in policy making from the bench,” Thorne-Begland wrote. “Instead, it is to decide if those with whom we have entrusted power have exercised that power in conformance with their constitutional mandate. On this question, the Court’s answer is in the affirmative.”

No it's not the final word.

There was a different case on the matter heard in oral aguments yesterday at the VA Supreme Court.

There is another different case currently on appeal to stay Judge Hurley's halting certification.

The people of Virginia spoke, and they are trying to supress the vote.

Hell you could say it was a "landslide victory" if you use Trumps definiation. He won 49.8% to 48.3% over Harris and called it a "landslide" and "mandate", the biggest in history. The Ameendment appears to have one 51.68% to 48.32% - a huge landslide using GOP metrics.

It is fun watching the dems expose themselves as the true authoritarians, trampling on the voting rights of their subjects.
The Democrats have no 'subjects'...and given the Republican history of Gerrymandering...the Republicans really have no room to talk!

It does show, as clear as day, that Spanberger & Co. care shit all about Virginians and only walk to the tune of the DNC.

Riiiiight. Take a look at the ridiculous map they created. You assholes whine about gerrymandering but ignore the fact that have already gerrymandered the shit out of 5 states so completely that they have not one repub congress critter, even though each of those states has 40 percent that vote GOP.

You people are disgusting liars.

The will of NY transplants is more like it.

:laughing0301: :laughing0301: :laughing0301: :laughing0301:

New Yorkers aren't flocking to VA.

They are going farther south.

Which is why some are concerned with the FL special election. By redistricting there they are afraid of deluting the GOP vote and having it backfire considering the mid-terms are a referendum on Trump and Trump's disapprovl is about 58%.

Karl Rove saved the Republican party via gerrymandering.
The only liar here your partisan azz.

Virginians votes approved the referendum. The Opponents are trying to block the will of the people.

These people remind me of bugs. They have the will to fly into the purple light, but it would be better if they didn't. Sometimes, ones will isn't a good thing. Like a fat **** wanting a donut or doper wanting a fix. Sick people make poor decisions, and it looks like Virginia has their share of sick people these days.

Another example of Don's delusions of grandeur.

Does Virginia's constitution permit them to take part in referendums?

Only if they move to Virginia and become Virginian residents.

But the reality is the New Yorkers are not moving to Virginia in great numbers. They are moving to North Carolina (best bang for the buck) and Florida (weather).

Meanwhile back in reality...

Texas didn't let the voters vote.

CA and VA did.

So find some sand and pound it FEM
It's an under appreciated fact that legislatures in TX, MO, and NC voted to grant trump's wish to do mid cycle gerrymandering while in D controlled states voter referendums allowed the people to decide.
