Tariff ruling.

The people get the congress they vote for.
Indeed.
And, yep, the people are failing too. They're not well-educated, they have zero understanding of history and, frankly, most of them shouldn't even vote because they don't have a clue what they're doing. But, sadly, our political system has devolved to a point where some really shitty, awful politicians get elected.

That's what happens when you allow those people with unlimited money, to put unlimited money for or against political campaigns.
I can't argue much with that.
Frankly, I'd like to limit voting to land owners as it used to be but I know that wouldn't fly anymore. I like the idea of people voting who have some stakes in the game.
But those days are gone ...

If the plaintiffs were willing to negotiate, they had the chance before they lost in every court.

Negotiations happen before the court renders its judgement. And they just ruled one side committed an ILLEGAL act.
And they have yet to file before that court.

So anything is possible.

1,800 companies are already before the court, including those in the supreme court decision.
They will probably be the first to collect, while the court decided whether to handle the hundreds of thousands of potential cases on an individual or class action basis.

They balanced the budget 26 years ago.
They did indeed, thanks to Newt Gingrich and a Bill Clinton who at that time realized he had to appear to be in the middle.
But that was a quarter century ago.
Long gone.
Neither party cares about fiscal responsibility. It will lead to an economic disaster sooner than later but nobody cares.

The voting public doesn't care about fiscal responsibility.

You said congress failed at everything for the last 40 years.
Now you'll have to walk that back.

No I don't.
A few balanced budgets doesn't make up for the hundreds of failures.
Don't play "Gotcha!" with me, pal.
You lose.
