A big part of our economy is now dependent on the defense industry. The weapons were in the hands of the Afghan army...the stupid thing was leaving them without air cover in the field or logistical support...Joe took out everything....he even ordered out private contractors and security companies guarding high profile government officials...causing them to get the hell out....its almost as if Joe or someone telling Joe what to do wanted this to happen...

I find it hard to believe that after 20 years, we didn't train more Afghani pilots to provide their own air cover and if that wasn't the case, then they really weren't ready.
This is much bigger than Afghanistan. It will be about the resurgence of Alqaeda and a more radicalized Taliban made up of various foreign groups but this time around they have money and weapons and military bases.

It will also be about our enemies in the region losing respect for us. Showing weakness brings about greater wars and more people forced to die.
For all the leftists here that hate Trump, your Lunatic Trump managed the last year and a half in Afghanistan without a U.S. casualty... he also never got us into a war with NK as you all said he would do and China would never dare threaten Taiwan with Trump in office. Seeing our weakness now, an armed conflict with China is much more likely.... or we just give up Taiwan as an ally.

Looking at all this, I have to say I thought ending the war in Afghanistan was the right move and we had already done that. We had already ceased nation building there a long time ago. Keeping a small group of specialists to help keep the Afghans together in The country at least inside of Bahgram would have been the correct move. Call it hindsight, but what we have now is someday going to cause a whole lot more U.S. military deaths than what we were all afraid of here.
