I'd like to point out that young gay people who feel they have no support - not from society, not from family, and not even spiritually in some cases as they're told that even God hates them - are especially vulnerable. Continuous non-acceptance is a powerful blow to self-esteem.
This is true. Many gay teenagers are rejected by their families, and sometimes, society, so they feel they are all alone in the world, and that there is no point in living when they get no acceptance.
This is why schools need to have strong anti bullying policies in place.
