Special Counsel Jack Smith has withdrawn his case

Thank you for confirming my post. Trump had every right by law to process the documents for his presidential library.

Sorry, the link says the opposite. Presidential records belong to the United States Government and are to be surrendered to the National Archives.

Yes, nothing in the law states the national archives is a warehouse in Wadhington where archivists take physical control.

That is why Obama took 24 semi-trucks of documents to Chicago with him for his presidential library.

Are you going to argue that it was archivists driving those trucks?

Obama didn't take trucks to Chicago.

The National Archives setup a warehouse for the documents. They were in possession and in charge of storage.

The National Archives operates numerous facilities in various locations.

None of those locations include the bathroom at Mar a Lago.

You are stating that an archivist drove each of the 24 semi trucks? The archivists are truck drivers and own 2 dozen semi trucks?

Yet no president is surrendering their presidential records. What it states and how the law us executed is not defined. We do have precedents. Obama used 24 semi trucks to take his records to an abandoned furniture warehouse owned by a rich campaign donor. How is that the archivist taking possession?

Yet, you provide proof that they are. No place as secure either.
I’m pretty sure a neglected bathroom at a social club isn’t all that secure.

And what do you think constitutes proof that NARA is operating a facility at Mar a Lago?

It could have been GSA or a contract transportation agency. It’s not relevant precisely who did so. It’s relevant that the documents were under the control and authority of the archives at all times. The archives approved, organized and facilitated the documents being moved to Chicago.

Every president since Nixon has done exactly that. The National Archives agreed to store Obama’s documents in that warehouse, which was leased and operated by the National Achieves for the purpose of storing Obama’s records before his library was built.

Obama didn’t take his documents. The archives moved them.

As were Trump's documents. Except Trump's documents are more secure at Mar-a-Lago than obama's inside a furniture warehouse never designed for security.

What the he’ll are you talking about?

The National Archives are an agency headed by the Archivist of the United States.

Do you think Jeff Bezos drives the all the Amazon trucks?

Obama did no such thing. His records were turned over to the National Archives. The are the ones that moved his records to a location close to where the library was to be built.

Obama didn’t move squat.

Not at all. Trump moved those boxes to Mar a Lago on his own and took personal possession of them. The National Archives was not aware of what he took and where he was keeping them. They were not in control of those documents.

Exactly as the law allowed, exactly as Obama did, the archivist were fully aware

How did Obama turn over 24 semi trucks of documents to the archives? Please tell us in your own words.

The archives did not physically possess the documents. Obama chooses the warehouse.

An abandoned furniture warehouse owned by a rich democrat donor

His administration transfered the documents as required to the National Archivist (Head of the National Archives Agency) as the law requires.

The National Archives staff lease a facility for storage and they moved the documents to the new facility.
