This is a nation of 330 million people, murders are going to happen, and mistakes will be made by cops once in while. You expect cops to never make a mistake, or for them to never cross the line when put in the crazy situations they are put in everyday. Nobody is saying that all future cases can be stopped. What people are demanding is that when it does happen the cop doesn't get the system make excuses for him and cover it up.It appears someone lied to a judge to get a warrant on Breonna Taylor.

So how did the system make an excuse for the Floyd cop? Floyd died on May 25th, the next day the cops were fired and on the 29th the cop was charged, even though the preliminary autopsy said Floyd didn’t die of asphyxiation. There was no cover up, and they barely even started the investigation. It will still take several months for a full autopsy report.

The riots are a culmination of acts the last few months. Floyd simply shows that the police still haven't got the message.

It was initially said that it would take months to investigate what happened to Floyd. That is simply code for "we are going to delay this until the anger does down".

Well, it didn't take months did it?

The culmination but more importantly that there is no natl elected leader pointing out that his was the third incidence in the past couple of weeks that, if there hadn't been citizens videotaping, white people would have used govt power to kill or threaten black men who just being there. That may not excuse violence, but it not comparable to Charlottesville where white men used violence to intimidate "non-combatants," and we have a president who cannot bring himself to condemn the latter but wants to label the former as "terrorism."

The issue not being addressed is that four times in the past couple of weeks the only reason whites failed in using the power of the police to kill or terrorize black people is that someone videotaped an incident.

That is not the same as being stopped while driving black and being asked for your driver's license when … statistically … a black is more likely to actually being doing something "wrong." In these four instances, the black people were doing their best to simply be left alone and have others play by the rules.

As a result we have nationwide "riots" by people of all races. Most protestors are peaceful. But society can't have riots. We either have a armed state everready to violently suppress dissent, or we successfully address protestor's grievances politically.
