Thank goodness Australia is a democracy that recognizes individual rights and freedoms; if a minority in Russia had made such a public criticism of Putin's government, they would all be in prison or dead by now.

All parties concerned know what exactly Ukrainians mean. Because it's the only thing that makes any military sense. They want American jets, with American pilots and American technicians. Something like the Russians (and Ukrainians, of course) did in Korea and Vietnam.
