First, you need to win the war against Russia. And, to be clear, it's impossible, because you don't have nukes (except some American old B61 gravity bombs).

Small hardware and software upgrades are frequent and last year there was a major upgrade of F 16's. They are as good or better than anything the Russians would risk flying over Ukraine.

You don’t get it. The aircraft proposed need more than a software upgrade. They are outdated technology which would be highly vulnerable to modern Russian air defense systems. Ukraine would not be getting the best equipment there is.

You are misinformed. There are hardware and software upgrades and the F 16. It is as capable of dealing with Russian defenses as any non-stealthy aircraft.

If you want to center on an actual missions it is about technicians as well. They need fuel, they need ordnance, they need plenty of things just to take off. And, when Ukrainians are asking about F-16's they don't ask just about jets. They ask about pilots, technicians, all support services as well.

They do not have objections. They just say, more jets the USA is going to give Ukrainians - more MANPADS will get Cartels and more nukes will get China and Iran. F-16's in Ukraine may mean Tu-160's in China.
