A large number of women have been arrested. Do they get charged the same as men? Many times not but they aren't just moved to a new location.

Remember the Mary Kay Letourneau case? It was right in my area and they definitely made a very public case out of it. In fact, it was in the school district my husband worked in when he was teaching, several years earlier.

That issue has been resolved. The coverup was back in the 80's and 90's.

Yet lawyers who are representing suspects are not required to report that the suspect admitted to them that he committed the crime for which he's being prosecuted. Moreover, even if a suspect admits to committing another crime, the attorney may not disclose this. For example, if you were involved in a fatal traffic accident and you admitted to your attorney that you hit the other car because you were drunk, your attorney cannot be forced to disclose that admission.

The only time I think a priest should be compelled to reveal a crime admitted during confession or counseling is if the crime is (1) the molestation of children within three years of the confession or (2) murder.

Actually, all a priest has to do is use a screen for EVERY confession, so he can never say he knew for certain who the penitent was.

And all the child abuser has to do is make his/her/its confession in another parish where the priest is not familiar with their voice.
