Zone1 Seattle passes law requiring clergy to report crimes even if told during Sacrament of Confession.

More then you think. This is a problem no matter where kids and adults interact.

Schools,. Churches, Scouts, Camps, everywhere.

I don't disagree. Not all move the problem somewhere else to be a problem though.

It happened in other places, or like in schools it was a lot of women bedding teenage boys so people looked the other way.

A large number of women have been arrested. Do they get charged the same as men? Many times not but they aren't just moved to a new location.

Remember the Mary Kay Letourneau case? It was right in my area and they definitely made a very public case out of it. In fact, it was in the school district my husband worked in when he was teaching, several years earlier.

This will be a big problem for Catholic Priests, as the sanctity of the confession is absolute in Catholic Cannon law. The Church is only questioning the violation of sacrament of confession, they agree clergy have a duty to report outside of the confessional.

Washington governor signs law threatening seal of confession; bishops push back in defense of religious freedom
No priest will ever comply. They'll go to prison first. Once more the atheist autocratic left seeks to force harm on the Catholic Church.

It would mean excommunication.

With as many leftist priests as there are out there, I wonder if they're smart enough to reason that out.

Every crime-----like if a 12 year old confesses to stealing a candy bar?
.

I converted at age 70. My first confession had to contain every sin I could remember, including that stolen candy bar.

It was great!

That issue has been resolved. The coverup was back in the 80's and 90's.
