Same Folks Who Claim War on Drugs Is a Failure Demand a War on Guns

I support the Constitution, when there is proper due process, people can lose their rights. This isn't anything new, '

Why do you want to ignore the Constitution and allow felons to go around legally buying and possessing firearms?

Where does the Constitution say that felons should lose their 2nd amendment rights?

Why do they lose 2nd amendment rights and not the rest of the bill of rights?
They do..,.they lose other rights, such as their right to vote, hold certain public offices, certainly their rights to unreasonable searches and seizures while in prison etc.

They can get almost all their rights back, either by operation of law, or by taking the proper steps in asking a Court to restore them

It doesn't say felons, it says all people can lose their rights...""deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law." - the Govt can take those things all away, but with proper due process

I think there aren't enough guns......400 million isn't nearly enough to make us safer....if we can increase that number up to north of 400 billion....then we can definitely be safer.....
That won't make a difference, either way, because you can only shoot one at a time...lol

The Bill of Rights doesn't guarantee the right to vote.

And once they have done their sentence and paid their debt to society they should get those rights back. It is wrong to keep punishing people indefinitely.

Sorry, but the Constituiton makes clear that someone's life, LIBERTY (including Consitutionally protected liberty), and property can be taken away with due process of the law.....before someone is a felon, they get due process of the law.
Can you point to where the constitution says a person can lose rights permanently after completing their punishment?

"while in prison"
Thanks for that

"Where does the Constitution say that felons should lose their 2nd amendment rights?"

it doesn't.

it also doesn't cover background checks.

Yes, and I am not the one that said either were in there. I am not really sure what you are angling for here.

Fifth Amendment:

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

Proving you can’t fix stupid.

There’s more guns in America than humans. We have two porous borders and numerous porous ports. You are not going to get guns out of evil peoples hands by thinking you’ll take them all away.

Get over it. Like nukes, the genie left the bottle.

It’s time to address the REAL elephants in the room, which includes fractured families, drugs, death penalty, faith, paroling, violence in entertainment, and mental health issues.

The War on Drugs was Nixon in 1971.

so, again nothing about felons specifically and nothing about what SHOULD happen, which was the claim of your fellow gun grabber.
