I'm willing to call it a mediocre stop gap. Not fully a disaster but for most students, not an optimal teaching/learning experience. Not mixed - disaster.

I certainly didn't cover what I needed to cover and discipline was a complete waste of time. But for some kids, (strange but true) this was actually a wonderful educational experience. I think my daughter had a much easier time in college because of distance learning. I, as a teacher, saw the failings in my classes but I saw the flashes of success as well.It set kids back by years. It resulted in an explosion of mental/social health problems for children. It set back the most those kids who could afford it the least. I made a good chunk of change private tutoring evenings during Covid because families with money knew it was no way to run a railroad.
"Verify few" would be more accurate. The test results show they failed. Many kids were taught at home using various media sources. Teachers report mixed success, however.
Homeschooling data (actual, provable data) says otherwise. It set kids back by years. It resulted in an explosion of mental/social health problems for children. The opinions, social media posts, and media claims simply do not hold up to the data. Children who attend school have far more behavioral/mental health issues.
- A recent study shows that homeschooled kids score almost twice as high on exams as public school students. Other studies show that homeschooled kids score 72 points higher than the national average on SAT exams.

- Homeschoolers are more likely to attend college, are more likely to graduate, and have higher college GPAs (Grade Point Averages) than other students.
- The old wives’ tale spread by the teachers’ unions (who are afraid of competition) is that homeschoolers are not “socialized.” Well, the facts are in. Homeschoolers are almost 2x’s as involved in their local community or church as public school students, and almost 3x’s times as involved in politics.
- Homeschooled children also have far fewer behavioral problems.

It's 2026, and it's still "whom."This isn't 1837. It's "who".
