Zone1 Would you support lawyers and judges replaced by AI driven computers?

AI can be programmed to simulate having a soul, which would give it moral superiority over lawyers.

.

Only if you could convince me that their programming is not biased in any way.

Good luck.

Great point, and I have a suggestion for a solution to that kind of trust problem.

Step one: build the system and get it dialed in as best as can be done.

Step two: Run the AI system alongside, in parallel with the actual judicial system, as it presents its own arguments and rulings, which are non-binding.

Step Three: Compare the results.

Step Four: Build in and incorporate a "humans have the final say" override.

This is one way that trust could be developed over time.

Good perspective, as long as the possibility of bias is factored in on the human side of the parallel exercise.

I have heard that AI is already replacing humans in both blue collar and white collar fields. I have heard little about AI replacing lawyers and judges which would seem the most logical application of AI algorithms. No human can match a Server driven by a sophisticated AI program geared to analyzing legal cases. No human could process hundreds or thousands or millions of similar cases to determine precedent, for example. IMO AI lawyers and judges should be rolled out in small test areas in the lower courts just as AI is replacing lower level positions in other fields.

And on a personal note, I would be MUCH more comfortable being tried by a secure AI computer than a "Jury of my peers" any day of the week. What say you? And to all my favorite trolls remember this is the CLEAN DEBATE ZONE. :)
NO !

Until you need to rely on mitigating circumstances, then your paddle is missing as to go up shit creek.

Lawyers are corrupt, judges are corrupt and juries are vulnerable to emotional manipulation. Suit yourselves I would go with AI in this instance.
