Pope on 2018: forget life's useless baggage, work for peace

This is so out of step with modern thinking that it is worth considering.

Pope Francis does live a frugal life. When I was watching the ball drop all over last night on the tube, I thought about the world we do not see on TV, those in prison, the poor, the homeless, the sick and aged, those with death sentences, those who do not even know what day it is.

Yet we celebrate a ball dropping and midnight, like its a big deal and all the money that goes into it. This is one crazy world, all the waste.

The Pope is at odds with rightwing economic dogma as well.

Conservatives’ relationship with the Church has always been frustrating for the right: they approve of the Church’s hostility to the reproductive rights of women but hate the quasi-Marxist message of economic justice and the value of human life.

He has also been critical of that orange twat. Can see why they hate him.
