Popes Wants a Ban On Jet Bombers

The Pope Leo again says nyet to all forms of aerial bombardment wanting jets, fighters, bombers, and aircraft of all types essentially taken out of the equation in war as being too effective, reducing combat really only to Armies and Navies so that you can really see the whites of the eyes of those coming to kill you.

Never mind that hand-to-hand combat is a lot messier and indiscriminate and would likely only lead to an INCREASE in killing!

Any by association though the Pope doesn't mention it, I don't see how then we could not include rockets, mortars and missiles as well. The gist of the Pope's beef being that people just should not have to worry about bad things falling out of the sky at you.

The Pope didn't say a word about people not doing bad things in the first place putting others in a position where they needed to bomb you.

Are you aware that before the Moon appeared around 12,000 years ago , that there is zero evidence anywhere of wars having ever been fought .

But this Pope seems to be calling for a modern day method of waging war. Sounds lovely, in theory. But does anybody imagine that a nation the likes of Iran would ever honor any treaty banning such methods?

The answer is they can't.

The whole concept of allowing "resistance" groups to bend or break the laws of war while normal States remain bound by them is one of the worst ideas from the 2nd half of the 20th Century. It allows low grade conflicts to fester, flare ups to go unpunished, and probably causes far more deaths than if more punitive measures were taken against the terrorists and their supporters.
