I was raised and confirmed Catholic, by the time I served our country in the Navy my dog tags had RCNP; I was then and remain an agnostic. However, I still practice the moral values of Jesus. Today I would say I'm a pragmatic Christian.

Classical liberal. Constitution, individual rights, restricted federal government, rule of law versus the mob, all that stuff.

Yes, they were Deists, and others Christian, and others no doubt secular, but acknowledgement and thanks to The Creator was given on federal documents, and voiced freely in chamber. It was not as it is told today.
