The dear Montgomery County Council almost got on board with the State of Maryland but still had to quake in their shoes some
Now get this-masks are no longer required indoors or outdoors for vaccinated people BUT since HIPA prohibits businesses from asking you about your innoculation status then each individual business can still impose a mask mandate.
This is going to be just jolly and where the fighting starts.’ Fear mongers will cling to the mask.
So the Feds pass the buck to the States and the states get ignored by the counties or cities, now the county passes the buck to individual businesses. It will be just glorious to be at the whim of one business to the next
We are governed by feckless, insipid people

The feds have no power to force a mask mandate without a declared national health emergency.

People are just catching on to the fact that the CDC, FDA, Fauci and our president are just a bunch of jive turkeys. They make shit up as they go. So now I think the people are about tired of their shit. Right or wrong, going forward, people are going to do what they think is right because they have lost faith in our politicians and all their bullshit, contradictory guidance.. At least that's the way it is for me.

Really the County councils should be putting their constituents first and not businesses. They are abdicating their responsibility by allowing businessesto enforce unwritten regulations based on “comfort whim” of the business.
They told citizens to lock down. Now they are telling businesses to decide what happens to individuals next. Bullshit.

Yes we know you feel it’s important to be helpless in coming out of this crap

Simple, don't patronize the business that requires/doesn't require masks as you choose. The marketplace will determine, in short order, whether or not masks become commonplace. As for me, if a business requires a mask--they don't require my business or my money.

It’s discrimination. I won’t participate. They can’t ask me personal health questions so since they can’t have me prove myself innocent they will presume guilt, impose their mask Nazism and deny service. Wear a mask=service. Same person, different treatment based on nothing other than arbitrary discrimination the “err on side of caution” is as tired and worn out and misapplied as “racism”

She was a familiar face in town. She had mild dementia and failed to wear a mask for just one ER visit:

Madison Woman Dies from COVID-19 She Contracted After Full Vaccination
Immunization has never ever never been 100% effective. It’s lib lockdown loons that are trying to apply this misnomer to Covid but thinkers know better

#10: One can less credibly call it a misnomer when it may have been contracted in the ER. All those workers “vaccinated” can still transmit to the susceptible.

On the bright side, local businesses and branches of businesses are a lot more subject to the opinions of their customers than any of the others. If one business is being an asshole about masks, you know one of his competitors is going to cash in on that by saying, "Well, I won't make you wear it, so come spend your money here instead."

I think almost no one on either side of the aisle is listening to these doofuses any more. People on the left have declared that they're going to keep clinging to their face diapers, because they started defining "science" as "whatever makes me feel safe and virtuous" a long time ago. People on the right stopped wearing the damned things ages ago, because they stopped believing the government was telling them the truth.

I want to see boycotts of the evil stores that are being mask enforcers. Also protests of groups of people demonstrating outside, say, a Wegmans store enforcing masks. I would join with those people in a minute, protest against the bad stores every day.

I don't know if anyone will take the time and effort to do an organized boycott. But I will bet those companies see their business dropping as people say to themselves, "I need to go shopping. Hmmm, if I go over here I'm going to have to wear that stupid mask the whole time. Think I'll just go over there instead."

Latest round of passing buck to lowest common denominator are these businesses now deciding what “laws” they think they can mandate. I will take a picture of the insipid notice on the CVS, hand scribbled , which states “for the security of our employees tge masks mandate remains in effect”
The most mishandled government intervention ever continues to foster the passing of the buck to the lowest denominator. Soon your lawn mower will tell you if you can sit on your porch without a mask
It’s not about patronize another place. It’s about generally irresponsible people expecting me to quell their health fears and comply with edicts to soothe their frazzled nerves. That’s mostly all itsEver been. Create a false panic and try to break the will of every thinking, fact based, statistically astute American

Joe Biden kind of resembles a lawn mower.

Kudos for "jive turkeys", that takes me back. :)

People in general do much better when they can look up and follow precedents. Lacking those, mistakes will always be made. They want to do well and do the right things, but they're basically shooting in the dark.

Backtrack, and you're a flip-flopper. Suggest something and you're wrong, an idiot, and possibly even Hitler.

They should get some credit for trying no matter how many mistakes they make. They could've said: "You're on your own."

Kind of reminds me of cockamamie motorcycle helmet laws. I still fail to understand how a helmet protects anyone but the rider--his body, his choice. We all know the boilerplate answer to that though--"But he would become a drain on society when he becomes a vegetable." Like that is a reason to remove everyone's right to ride without. The whole argument loses credibility when Biden and his socialists are giving "mandatory minimum wage" to every person in America. Isn't that also a drain on society?
