Republicans are flogging a culture war focused on public schools, but it doesn’t seem to be landing with the parents of actual schoolchildren. A new NPR/Ipsos poll of parents of school-aged children finds people generally happy with their kids’ schools and teachers, and not foaming at the mouth over race and LGBTQ issues.

Education rated as the third-highest concern of parents in the poll, but 88% of respondents agreed with the statement, “my child's teacher(s) have done the best they could, given the circumstances around the pandemic,” and 82% agreed that “my child's school has handled the pandemic well.” Republicans have largely moved on from trying to whip up rage about how schools have handled the pandemic, though, focusing more on demonizing marginalized groups and arguing that parents should be allowed to micromanage the curriculum. (Right-wing white parents, anyway.) But that’s not getting a lot of traction, either.

The real world is much different than MAGA land.

How large was the sampling of parents?

What area of the country?

What city?

Were any conservative parents polled? Got stats on that?

Was that ACTUAL parents of school age children..i mean enrolled in PUBLIC schools.

Did they make a distinction between parents of homeschooled/private school children and government run public schools?

Need numbers! I'm not really inclined to take these pronouncement from media seein' as what we've learned over the past 6 years. More transparency needed.

The National Enquirer gets it right more times than the OP's source.

Next he'll be citing some other conspiracy theory outlet like CNN, MSNBC, The Washington Post, or The New York Times.

We just gave our teachers a 6 percent raise. All is well.

You didn't do it. You were forced to do it. And likely you've paid groomers to destroy your kids if you even care. Factually, you're getting nothing for that increase cause those teachers are not teaching anything worthwhile. You may now kneel to your teachers' union. LOLOL

You paint everything with a broad brush. I support it 10000000 percent. We are a small rural school. Our kids do well as evidenced by the low numbers not going to college or tech school,. We had 2 kids not further their education and 1 join the military out of a class of about 200. Not bad.

Not really. Most schools don't shove that perversion on our children, only a select few where liberals use indoctrination. Those parents are the ones that are pissed off, and we've seen plenty of videos to support it. In spite of lying of the parental rights act in Florida by calling it Don't Say Gay bill, people who learned about what it actually was gave overwhelming support of it not only in Florida, but across all other states.

As long as your school is teaching actual school subjects and not run by weirdos and freaks trying to brainwash your child, of course they are happy with it. So you are still losing the battle and war no matter how you try to slice it or dice it.

That new bill

You can also call this the child abuser protection act.

If a school has evidence that a student is being physically or sexually abused, they
by law have to turn that evidence over to the parent who is abusing the child.
