Opening the straight not hard at all

Iran has attacked us many times. France wont help, that is their right.

Then we have no obligation to protect NATO from the Ruskies or whoever they're afraid of.

Buh-bye!

The only time Iran attacked you was in 1979, and that was the assault on the Embassy.

Middle eastern terrorists have attacked you, and may have had ties to Iran, but the Iranian government has NOT directly attacked the USA.

The attack on the Embassy was an attack on America.

And morons like Draggin’Ass don’t even count all the proxy fighting done by the Iranian Islamofascist regime.

I don't care if it's direct or indirect. An attack is an attack.

If Trump paid a terrorist group to attack the European colonizers of Greenland would you be cool with that?

And then what?

Explain why we should be obligated to help a country that will not help us?
Because we have a nearly one hundred year old treaty to defend each other. There is no requirement that Europe join us, or we join Europe on foreign adventures. For example, France's activities in the Caribbean and Africa against Islamic terrorists. We are not required to help them, although we often do behind the wings.

No problem. Just keep an Iranian ship between us and the Iranian coast. Also, it's doubtful that Iran will mine the strait as it needs its own tankers to get through.

It is about what the Cheekies claim to have done and what they appear to do .
Insurance charges then mark the money limit and they will be absurdly high or simply unquoted .

It has nothing to do with your ideas which you doubtless developed when playing tankers in the bath with matchsticks and toothbrushes .

It's understood that the insurers have backed out. While I was playing in the bathtub I came up with the real solution; stop the war. Iran has said they will open the strait if we stop bombing them. So simple.

You idiot, the embassy was sovereign US territory and they attacked it and seized 500 US citizens. It was the one time they had US territory in their grasp and they attacked it.

They won't be getting a second chance.

Really? In other words teach the Iranian mullahs that they can both defeat and direct the USA? The mullahs say no strait unless USA surrenders and goes away and your solution is to comply and show them that works? And just trust they will actually keep their word and will not use that as leverage to again try some other advantage?

Just leave them alone so they can keep arming themselves and exporting weapons and bombs to our enemies and developing nuclear capability?

You smokin' jimsonweed?

They are not obligated to help our military excesses
NATO did not support us in Vietnam and only a few helped in Iraq
So we are not obligated to help them. Are you another one that doesnt know that Iran has attacked us several times?

I am more than fine with that. Bye NATO!

The have NEVER met their obligations for military spending so we should have kicked them to the curb long since.

Based on your comment we must continue the war forever, because Iran isn't going to surrender. Someone has to make the first positive move.

Just a matter of resolve....

An Iranian tanker has just made it through on its way to China.

Sink it!

Not hard, one maybe two torpedoes.

Don't want to sink it? Knock off the rudder and propeller.

Iran is not the only country that can close the straight.

If no one else gets through neither do the Iraian ships.

This is not at all hard.

Jo
Better yet and safer environmentally is to remove Iran's ability to export. Trump is making the right move re: Kharg island. Security for the Straits of Hormuz should rightfully fall on the countries surrounding the Persian Gulf.

Problem is with foreign policy the Democrats and Republicans are two cheeks of the same backside, it Was Bill Clinton who was involved in the aggression against Yugoslavia.
Oh brother. Yugoslavia? That's an excursion dude. Iran is NOT an excursion.

Remember Biden's wars? Obama's wars? Hasn't this Iran thing spilled over into other countries? How many wars has Trumps started? Now he demands the rest of the world help or else. How ridiculous is this becoming?

But, I think the world will come to his aid. He will stop sanctioning Russia. Why not? How dare we now after what we've done. The world should be sanctioning us. Except for the fact Iran has been a bad actor on the world stage. It's not like they are kind to Europe, Australia or England.

Iran's primary allies constitute the "Axis of Resistance," a network of state and non-state actors, including Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthi movement in Yemen, and various militias in Iraq, such as the Popular Mobilization Forces. Iran also has strategic partnerships with Russia and China.
Based on reports from early March 2026, the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) has received hundreds of complaints from U.S. service members alleging that military commanders are framing current military operations against Iran as the fulfillment of biblical, end-times prophecy.
