You didn't mention this in your initial post - you simply replying why does Turkey need oil and that they don't share a border.Map of Iran shows no border with Turkey on the Persian Gulf area where the oil is located. You are correct. There is a border, but it is a mountain range. No oil there.
Iran's largest oil refinery and processing plant in located in Tabriz - only 100 km away from Turkey, processing around 120,000 barrels a day or 3,6 million barrels a month. Aka 5 times what Turkey needs.
