You know, I can see both sides. On one side, it would be respectful of the culture for Michelle to don a scarf to attend a funeral. On the other hand, she was born and raised in this country and it is not custom for American women to wear head coverings, unless their religion requires such practices. Either way, I think she's damned if she does, damned if she doesn't. Unfortunately, she has a record of ignoring local customs (like pawing the Queen of England), and such past performances do not cast her in a favorable light, vis-a-vis locally respectful customs.
