Wow....so many lies about Patriot disabilities and Kinsaihl capabilities it's funny.

These Russian hypersonic missiles still require over an hour to reach Kiev. Upon hearing about Russian jets the operators still have time to grab a bite of lunch/dinner before blowing them out of the sky as they would any ballistic missile.

There are overlapping layers of air defense around Kiev. Ones for drones, ones for cruise type missiles and ones for ballistic missiles.
Patriot system has fire and forget systems. AND
A reloading time that takes less than 30 minutes. And as far away as Russia is firing their missiles and drones from....there is no way that Russia is capable of destroying Kiev.

When the truth is that Russia doesn't want the highly maneuverable Patriot and other air defense systems to move anywhere near the front lines. (Patriots can take down ANY jet)
Because if they did move to the front lines....Russia will lose a major defense of their troops. And right now they simply can't afford that.

However....there's more surprises coming for Russia....unpleasant surprises.

This article seems to disagree on whether they can be shot done by saying that they have been shot down. They go on to say that even though Russia makes this claim, there are those who disagree and say it is not a hypersonic quote " The Kinzhal is neither, as it is an air-launched ballistic missile"

On whether they they can be intercepted, The article says that quote "the U.S. Aegis sea-based terminal defense system already had a nascent capability to counter hypersonics."

Granted Ukraine does have this. Still this article balances out the fear factor

Still there are numerous articles that say that Ukraine was able to shoot these missiles down. So they are not invincible and the Russian propaganda is alive and well.

Actually, the front lines would be the absolute worst place to put PATRIOT.

It is not the kind of asset that you ever put on the front lines, or anywhere close to them. They are too slow to be used in that manner. If using US equipment, that is where you put equipment like the AN/TWQ-1 AVENGER. That is a small single vehicle highly mobile air defense system. That is the kind of asset you put on the front lines, not PATRIOT.

There is a reason why PATRIOT is generally placed behind the lines, around 60 miles or more back and defending things like logistic points, air bases, and command centers. You absolutely never actually place them on the front lines themselves, or anywhere even close. The US did experiment with doing something like that in 2003, and it was ultimately a disaster.
