My Wife Is Going To Have To Start Hospice Care Soon

My wife was spitting up blood yesterday morning and I called an ambulance. They worked on her last night and she has several problems:

  • They say she has COVID but it's not COVID19
  • The doctor told me she has a mass in her brain and a mass in her lung
  • Because of her age I really don't have any options other to start her on hospice care here at home
So if anyone is wondering why my Christmas spirit is in the crapper.....this is what I've been dealing with.
Hopefully she can come home next week and she can pass in peace here in our home.

Very sorry my friend. Prayers and best wishes.

Sorry, to read this sad news. It brings back Christmas 2000 for me after my wife was diagnosed with brain cancer when they found 14 lesions in her brain.
Stay strong for her and cherish every moment you have with her... Make her happy and the best Christmas she's ever had.

If it were my time...I would chose to stay at home.

But there came a time where I couldn't give my mom the care she needed & we moved her to a hospice home. I was there each day & my sis was there at night.

Round the clock nurses who had experience. None of us liked it...but they managed her pain far better than I ever could have!

Even crunching up an oxy & mixing it with a few drops of water & dripping it into her mouth...I would have never thought of that.

I'll keep you and your wife in my prayers

When my Grandfather died, Hospice was at the house every day helping to keep my Grandfather comfortable and giving my mother emotional support
That's what Muddy is doing. Keep her at home

Damn.
Take care of yourself, so that you can take good care of her until she's gone.

“God, thank you for being with us right now. We confess that we don’t understand why things happen the way they do. We don’t understand why illness comes into our lives, but we do know that you walk every path of life with us. Remind us that you are walking with us right now. Remind us that you love us, no matter what we are going through. I also pray for mudwhistle family. Give them your strength as they care for his wife. God, we thank you that you never leave us, that you never forsake us, but you love us. We trust you, and pray this in your name. Amen.”

Very sad news. Sry to hear this.
Please have her try absolute fasting for 7 days. Water only. (if possible)

Sometimes it can actually stop cancers and tumors dead in their tracks.
Cancers feed on blood glucose and cannot thrive without it.

Prayers are in order.

Now we know how you've managed to be such a good member. Tell her thanks from your friends on the board for allowing you the time. I hope her time is peaceful.

So sad, my condolences. My sister died on her first day at home in hospice care. We knew she would. My daughter stayed with her, but I left. I couldn't bear to watch my sister die.

I am sorry for you and hope you find the strength to handle this. My Brother has liver cancer they said he has 6 months cause the chemo didnt work. He is 71 so he lived a pretty long life. I cant go to Washington state to visit. I am bed bound and can't get about. Just as well I saw my grandma before she died of Lung Cancer, I will just remember him as he was.

I'm very sorry to hear that. We may have our differences here but I would not wish that on anyone.

I know chances are remote but if there is anything I can do for either of you please do not hesitate to ask.

I think they just dope people up at a hospice. Dying at home sounds better.

Hospice is home care. You don't "go to" a hospice. Hospice helped my neighbor as he was on hospice care for years. They were there every day helping the wife out as she couldn't help her husband.

They are wonderful. The best thing that can happen to you is her being taken under the wing of hospice. She will be much happier. They can take care of her.

Normally they use liquid Morphine and it's spoon fed to the patient.
