My Wife Is Going To Have To Start Hospice Care Soon

Peace be with you.

Good to see you being nice for once. :)
I got Elouise home on Christmas Eve.....I've started feeding her and she's eating pretty good.

I just have to make sure not to give her anything spicy.

No tomatoes. Caught her trying to steal some coffee a while ago and intercepted it before she could drink any.

She spent 4 days in a hospital bed, so she's kind of weak, but she's walking now. I have to watch her.

But now that I'm getting good food in her , her strength is coming back.

Praise the Lord!! :D

Today's report sounds way better than what you hoped for on Sunday. Hang in there.

My wife was spitting up blood yesterday morning and I called an ambulance. They worked on her last night and she has several problems:

  • They say she has COVID but it's not COVID19
  • The doctor told me she has a mass in her brain and a mass in her lung
  • Because of her age I really don't have any options other to start her on hospice care here at home
So if anyone is wondering why my Christmas spirit is in the crapper.....this is what I've been dealing with.
Hopefully she can come home next week and she can pass in peace here in our home.

Oh, my family's heart is with you all. I am sad for you.

So sorry. Sincerest condolences.

But hospice care at home could be a blessing even in a small way.

So sorry my friend. These long goodbyes are so hard to deal with but it is a blessing to be able to deal with it at home instead of the impersonality of the hospital or nursing home so long as you have help and don't have to deal with it by yourself. Hospice is such a blessing that way.

Prayers up for peace and comfort for you both.

This is going to be a very trying time for you and your wife. Hold her hand often. The power of touch. 🙏
Before I met my wife she was a very good faith-healer. She sometimes gave readings with Taro cards.
She could spot a fake reader from a mile away.

She got really deep into it, and she said that she started seeing visions of Heaven and Purgatory. She saw a side of evil on Earth that scared her so much that she gave up the practice. The Devil has domain of the Earth and what she saw made her stop faith-healing. The Devil has it in for anyone who's close to God. It's easy to go along with the Devil and evil, but it's next to impossible to stick with being pure and clean. But the more pure and clean you become, the more evil offends you. That's just the Devil using our humanity against us.

Yes, hold her hand as often as possible. And remember each and every touch

I know these must be trying times for you and your family. May the Lord give you and your loved ones care and comfort.

Hospital interns aren't necessarily medical geniuses. Get a 2nd opinion and good luck.
If it's a misdiagnosis, it got my wife better care for the rest of her life.

But I doubt it's incorrect. I talked to one of my wife's nieces....and she said Elouise is very sick and probably bleeding from her upper respiratory or her stomach. She doesn't have an ulcer because she doesn't have any indigestion....so it's probably cancer. Because of her age chemo isn't an option. 20 years younger and I would consider it. Her sister was in her 40s and she died from chemo and radiation treatments.

Prayers. Have been through it recently. Advice, stay on top of her docs to have morphine prescribed in case pain gets bad. There is no reason to suffer in a rich country like America.

My wife was a hospice RN and visited terminal patients all day at their homes.
I agree with you that pain management is very important.
I hope Mrs. Mudwhistle is getting visiting nurse visits to help with medication management, including computer dosing.
