Maine Air Force Vet Discusses How the Military and GI Bill Opened Up New Life Opportunities

The GI Bill after WW II brought a lot of poor boys into the middle class; it wasn't only about education bennies, many of them financed their business start ups with it and houses as well. Programs like Eisenhower's interstate highway system construction was also a boon to many small businesses, and so were the Marshall Plans for Germany and Japan. It was organized and operated under a totally different setup than the Soviet version of 'state capitalism' and its command economy.
