Small government, no matter how inefficient and stupid, can only do so much damage. But when government grows to a size unimaginable to the framers of our Constitution, it does things like spend $837,000/unit for homeless housing.
Bonus: The audit states that “more people are unhoused today than when Prop. HHH passed in 2016.”

It's a scam. Money laundering and embezzlement.

Spending that kind of scratch to house Bums seems wasteful to the extreme.

The first question to ask is why are people homeless to start with? Some are psych cases, others are alkies or addicts, still others are criminals.

All people who can't be counted on to maintain expensive housing facilities.

Remember, a large number of the homeless are people who have burnt their bridges with their friends and relatives, that's why they are living outside to start with. If their own mums don't trust them in their homes, why is the LA government trusting them to live in $837,000 homes?

I'll bet the builder is a supporter of the Democratic Party.

The typical home value of homes in Los Angeles is $944,651.
And?
So you’re saying people working hard paying $11,000 a month mortgage are suckers because homeless get it for free?

You have to be a fool to live in areas like that and forced to pay prices like this. Just build small attached cinder block rooms with an open door and small open window. No lawyers and no lawsuits. Outside can be port a pottys with no extra charges and a central water supply. You start with sense. And go from there. No lawyers. No corrupt contractors. No city codes that affect simple buildings.

That's not possible in California. The entire homeless industry exists solely as a means for DemoKKKrats to skim cash from the public.

LA built a homeless housing compound two years ago...the cops were there so often that they had to shut it down during covid to protect the cops and the staff that run the place...so the bums camped outside of the fence and victimized the local homeowners....they couldn't leave anything outside of the home or it would be gone in 2 min....
One lady on the news said she was unloading her groceries from her car in her driveway...and they came and took everything while she was bringing in the first bag...
Do you libs really want to live like this?....is this what you voted for?...

I was thinking more about a large dormitory, with hundreds of bunk beds under a single roof. A small staff to keep an eye on things and maintain order.

It will never happen in California. There is ZERO interest in housing homeless people or improving their lives in any way. They are strictly a source of graft for the DemoKKKrats who run the state.

Why should anyone in california work to pay for housing when libs will give them a free luxury apartment?

That seems a bit high for a refrigerator box.
