I am much older than 45 and NO there was no movie the Passion of the Christ(2004) when I was in school. The only ones that burned books and records was the baptist in OKC and they tried to shut down concerts.

I think we were kinda in between. I remember there was talk of censoring books like Ulysses, Catcher in the Rye and The Diary of Anne Frank from school reading lists due to adult themes. And they really didn't want sex education in schools... but the Aids epidemic changed that.

Tipper Gore was the one I remember going after explicit lyrics and adult themes in movies.
