List of Offices in the Federal Government - Yikes!

Each Office has Staff and Facilities. And of course a budget.
Why is the Federal Government involved in 70% of these? Would life in America decline if they just disappeared? You know each State also has a similar list.

We probably don't need the Army and the U.S. Army. Which ones would you eliminate?

Don't forget that these agencies were created by Congress in reaction to a need. There was no room full of bureaucrats thinking up ways to grow the gov't.
Congress created the larger government so therefore a larger government is justified.

Love the pretzel logic!

Federal Employees have not increased in 50 years even though our population has doubled
That’s because the number of people in the military has been rapidly declining because of the end of the Cold War and automation. While your graph is basically flat, there are 2 million less in the service over that same time period.

So yes, the size of the government is increasing. Pelosi’s $2T budget she just worked out validates it.

The truth is that we're all to blame for the size of gov't. When a congressman is running for reelection and brags about how much federal money he brought home to his district, people cheer. Of course he brings it home by letting other congressmen bring home their own share of the pork. When 'bringing home the bacon' is an insult only then we'll be able to get rid of some of the waste.

While the number of gov't employees has fallen, the number of contractors has dramatically increased. Great way to 'shrink' gov't but not.

And yet we need MOAR money for MOAR programs.

Shut down the ones no longer needed, consolidate where we can, see what money we saved and use it to fund relevant projects we have for today.
ah shit that makes far too much sense.

Provide for the common defense and promote (not fund) the general welfare that should be the extent of the fed, all else falls to the states. This bloated, bureaucratic, nightmare monster we have as a government today is the exact opposite of what the Founders intended.

Plus $458 million for National Endowment for Democracy (NED), a private, nonprofit foundation /sarcasm /face palm

I know you guys see me post this over and over and over...

...the Federal Government is a bloated beast and should be cut in half.

We put it together to HELP us, not to fuck us over....and at the end of the day, its like Soylent Green...it’s just people. It’s NOT some magic entity.

If spending isn’t cut significantly very very soon, the economy WILL collapse.

You stupid left wing fucks should be more worried about an economic apocalypse. That’s coming way before we all die from cow farts.

Costs money to run the worlds largest economy
We need to maintain a military that is larger than the next eight countries combined just to force our will on nations around the globe

The Federal Government doesn't run the economy you communist shit for brains. :icon_rolleyes:

A Government of the people, by the people and for the people

Business cannot function without the government protecting their interests at home and abroad

LMAO businesses have been functioning without government for thousands of years you retard.

Like hell they have

Government provides :

infrastructure they profit off of
security
An educated workforce
A legal system
Protection of patents and intellectual property
A stable monetary system
Military Protection of overseas interests

Nah. Government provides mountains of red tape and paperwork up the ass. They sure aren't there to help the businessman.

A business can run quite well without Government. They did so long before the giant Government we have right now came to be.

LOL

Business would consume itself without government protecting their interests

Business loves Government when they do what they are told (think Republican)
Business hates it when Government does things for We the People (think Democrats)

An initiative proposed by that lover of big gov't, Ronald Regan.

Internal Revenue Service has a budget of TWELVE BILLION DOLLARS. Get that? $12,000,000,000 of your tax money comes right off the top just to pay a bunch of people to make sure you paid the right taxes. Meantime, with just a flat tax based off a percentage of the money you earn and spend, it could be done for

ZERO
. And that would end all the loopholes for the rich.

IRS: a real nifty way of creating good paying jobs for a whole lotta people.

No, it could not. Cheaper? Yes.

You are showing your ignorance again.

You are showing your ignorance again.

Ignorance, jackass? I can produce documentation showing direct expertise in the field at the highest level. Can you, you little pud-thumper? Don't even try to flatter yourself much less try to impress anyone here with your bullshit claims of schoolboy comedy college chucklehead "knowledge." You yank yourself far too much.

Bullshit! You think you could eliminate every single person in the IRS by shifting to a flat tax? Just how stupid are you? I stated it could be done cheaper, but your claim of ZERO just shows how mentally retarded you are!

Don't think that anyone didn't notice that your quote only contained my comment and not the abject ignorance in YOUR post!

Not only are you stupid, you suck at lying!

This is a better way to look at it...

So we have all those federal agencies in the OP with no rise in federal employees in those agencies over 50 years

The problem is less the number of Fed Employees but the rules and regulations they might impose on the private sector.

Rules on public safety, worker protection, environmental protection, civil rights

Agree, safety and efficacy are important as well as protections and rights. But there is definitely overlap in missions. Some I imagine are obsolete. Review and reduction is critical.

It is counter to the thought process of the government, especially Congress, to cut the budget because they want to grow government and expand their power and sphere of influence.

We need people in Congress who actually care about America doing well financially, not just power brokers and social justice warriors.

The welfare state doesn’t work, especially when you combine it with open borders.

Bankruptcy is an inevitability. It’s simple math.

It is not just Federal government, although they are probably the worst. It is also State, and Local (City) governments. The employees could easily be cut by 50% - 60% with NO reduction in services.

The amount of employees, large salaries, benefits, and PENSIONS with benefits for LIFE. Horribly wasteful to the American tax payer.
