"Let His Blood be on us and on our children!" the Jewish leaders screamed, even as Pilate was inclined to release Jesus because He hadn't done anything wrong.

Today, we Christians should be saying this, and often

Let Jesus's powerful Blood be on us all.

We recall the Passover when God told the Israelites to put lamb's blood on the door posts and when the angels saw that blood, they would "passover" and not kill the firstborn of the families who had that blood on their doorposts.

God does not change.

You should be thanking "the Jews" for having the faith and courage through the centuries to reject, even unto death, your ignorant superstitious and perverted beliefs about a mangod and daily desecration of the body and blood of Jesus, his teaching on the Law and actions.

God seems to have changed from vengeful to loving between the Old and New Testaments.
not so

His Justice lives, but since He's given man free will, true justice is pretty much nowhere in sight and will have to wait until the next (after death) realm

At which time, big sinners are in big trouble

The Bible says "They [big sinners] have their portion in this life" (meaning that: in the next life.. not so much)

Its all a matter of interpretation. Things changed after Jesus who believed in an unknown God. "who is this Father?"

Take the OT literally and that creates an image and likeness of God comparable to that of a capricious and puerile petty tyrant obsessed with the diet, clothing, and sexual preferences of consenting adults and believers will strive to emulate that. A sanctimonious pervert.

Dig a little deeper to decipher the figurative language used and the image and likeness of God is comparable to that of a dedicated and benevolent loving Father and believers will strive to emulate that. Not a sanctimonious pervert.

His blood is on the Jews.

And every Gentile too.

Someday I hope everyone can grasp this simple fact.

Hobelim is the name given by God to one of the two staves that he uses to lead the flock.

"but the prophet also found in this name Hobelim the indication that the people despised God and that God despised them." Moses Maimonides, Guide for the perplexed, Pg. 239

Then the Lord said to me, “Equip yourself again as a worthless shepherd. For I am going to install a shepherd over the land who will not care for the dying, or seek the lost, or heal the injured, or feed the survivors, but will feast on the meat of fat beasts and throw away their broken bones." Zechariah 11:15

Job is a literary device, a story, written to try and explain why good people suffer. He never existed. Abraham was a putz if he thought that God wanted him to mutilate his own weenie.
Abraham will judge you soon enough.

This forum has always been haunted by a bizarre bunch of freaks: the demon possessed, the insane, and the Atheists. All having the same origin though. Finding worthwhile discussion here is nearly pointless.
