Zone1 Just a nonconfrontational discussion.

Trump is not Democrat is the point, Bulldog.

The Christian nationalists do not understand that he does not belong to them, but rather that they are, in fact, his serfs, his chattel.
you mean the guy we nominated through a vigorous primary ? how many votes did you cast in the dem primary after Biden was forced out ? answer .. none ! your dear leaders didnt give you a choice !

Obviously, Democrats are doing something wrong. Here is your chance to say what that is.

It's actually quite simple...

People: Food price inflation is starving my children.
Democrat elite: Inflation is transitory.

People: Open borders have killed 300,000 Americans.
Democrat elite: The borders are secure.

People: Our daughters are getting the crap beat out of them by boys in girls sports.
Democrat elite: You are a perv-O-phobe!

People: YOU'RE FIRED!

I'll give you credit OP...You are looking within to find the answer. That's a great place to begin!

The evangelical vote was a large part of his support.
Sure. Just like it was in 2016. That didn't change. What changed was that he peeled off traditional Democratic voters. Didn't you watch the election coverage last night? They showed how Harris was consistently underperforming relative to Biden.

The evangelical vote was a large part of his support. That's why I directed the question directly to them. Other groups deserve their own thread. I'm just wondering what it is that attracts religious people so strongly.

You have to consider that even though they may be Evangelicals its not a single issue thing with them.
Abortion is probably one, support for Israel, what they percieve as an attack on family might be another.
Meaning parental consent or influence over their own school children.
Probably though there are many other things that cross lines with other demographics.

Seriously? It seems like that is exactly what you seem to want to argue.
You are mistaken. I'm not arguing anything. I just want a discussion as to why.

He's not going to force the LGBT agenda on them, he's not going to try to teach their children the pride agenda

Your side isn't pushing tolerance, you are pushing forced acceptance.
What is he doing to limit the Pride agenda?

I agree that the evangelical vote, for the most part, went to Trump. But you have to also acknowledge that the even larger non-evangelical vote had more impact on this election. Just by sheer numbers alone, Harris should've won by a landslide - right?
The pro-abortion and gay rights stance that Democrats usually run on is obviously the reason that Christians usually vote Republican.

I think what you are missing is that Trump carried more traditional Democrat voters this time than he did in 2020. So was that Trump's populist message or was it that they didn't agree with Harris' messaging or was it a little bit of both? The support from the evangelical right was the same. Trump didn't win because of evangelicals. He won because of Democrats.

So why do you think that was?
Stay on subject or leave. Your call.

If you’ve read my posts, my opinion of trump should be quite obvious. However, the voters have spoken. My opinion is in the minority. A large part of trump’s support is from Christians/ evangelicals.

I don’t understand that but I would like to. Obviously, Democrats are doing something wrong. Here is your chance to say what that is. Not so long ago, Bill Clinton’s affair with an aid had the Christian community in an uproar. It was often said that our leaders had to have high moral standards, and Clinton’s affair was just not acceptable. The right claimed moral superiority. They even called themselves the Moral majority. However, trump’s multiple dalliances and ethical standards don’t seem to be a problem. It’s not my intention to argue why I don’t think trump is moral enough to deserve support. I just want to understand why so many religious people think he is. What has he done for the religious community to deserve such overwhelming support? I could start a confrontational name calling thread another time. This isn't the place for that. Keep it civil
I'm not religious, but I would imagine it is the democrats obsession with destroying religion.

Trump is a great con man. He bamboozled em by speaking in mysterious ways - they made of that whatever they wanted. He stroked their bruised egos. You are the REAL America. You are the patriots. I need your help and prayers to make YOUR country great again. And he delivered on abortion. So they voted yesterday to see to it their Trumpy wouldn't suffer over his gift to em. He let em loose to smear and terrify trans kids and the people who love them.

How Harris was selected weighed heavily on religious reasons Christians support trump? Is that mentioned in the Bible?

We all want those things. What specific policy of his will accomplish that?
Closing the border, enforcing Title IX, ending the funding of terrorist countries like Iran, ending the support of hamas, sending the hundreds of violent illegal aliens back to their place of origin, enforcing the laws of this land.

None of those things popped in to your mind?

Those don't seem to be reason why specifically religious people support trump so strongly. A much wider range of people would use those reasons.
