Machado/Trump and the Nobel: Feel Good Story of the Year.

Sometimes things are so blatantly unfair, you hurt for people.

Back in my high school, they give an annual award to a senior who exemplifies the virtues of a fallen war hero from my hometown. It's a big deal. The award is based on leadership, athleticism, and scholarship. The local Kiwanis Club gives out the award. One year, three candidates were up for the award, and the winner should have been obvious. Though of modest upbringing, one finalist was class president, Honor Society, football, track, and wrestling hero, Boys State, and great Christian kid. But the student given the award was not nearly as esteemed or qualified or moral. BUT. His father was a member of Kiwanis and a bigwig in town. When he was announced as the winner, the student body audibly and loudly booed at the injustice. It was embarrassing. People were outraged at the unfairness.

This Trump/Machado/Nobel situation reminds me of that. President Trump was the obvious choice for the Peace Prize. He ended two wars; India/Pakistan and Palestine/Israel, disabled Iran's nuke program, worked hard on Russia, and removed Maduro from Venezuela, ending the scourge that murdered millions. Slam dunk, right? Wrong. The partisan leftwing Nobel Committee wouldn't give Trump an award in a million years. Horrible injustice, but then saint-like Maria Machado turned it around. An intensely devout Catholic, Machado is a special person. Highly esteemed. Universally beloved. Though she was a bit player in the Maduro saga, she was given the Nobel instead of the obvious choice. BUT she had the virtue and wisdom to admit President Trump was the true deserving Nobel winner.

Machado had the courage to say NO to hate. She thumbed her nose at the Nobel Committee's directive to NOT transfer the prize, and gave it to Trump anyway. Only someone of Machado's character could have pulled this off. She is so well thought of, the Nobel Committee ended up getting egg on its face while both Machado and Trump were elevated. Justice had been done. This is one of the greatest feel-good stories of the year. Donald Trump now wears the title of Nobel Laureate forever. Well deserved. Machado is noted for her courage and fairness.

Trump is like Bobby Knight (Trump supporter), Curt Cignetti (Trump supporter), Nick Saban (Trump supporter) and really all the great coaches. To the soft, these guys can seem harsh and unreasonable, their methods unconventional, but the results are always there. In all cases, past players rave about them, and how much they do for people. Trump's acts of personal generosity are legend. So are Knight's and Saban's. But the leftwing media hides the good and only shows the harsh. Stupid people buy it. As my high school coach friend once told me. "Very few high school athletes appreciate what you've done for them until much later".

In the case of Trump, he knows exactly the negotiation technique he's using while the left reacts to every single feint and claims 'Trump doesn't know what he's doing". In all cases, Trump wins in the end. It will be the same with Greenland.
