Is Trump even eligible to receive a presidential pardon?

Whether granted by himself (self pardon) or by Pence, or any future president, are such pardons prohibited by the Constitution?

US Constitution
Article 2 Section 2.
The President ,,, shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment.

Article 1 Section 3
Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.

The constitution clearly believes those impeached should suffer the consequences of their actions through both a political and legal judgement. So does article 2 section 3 preclude the derailing of a legal judgement by precluding presidential pardons to those impeached?
Pardon for what? Beating the beast? Fuck off.

There is no prohibition from impeaching Trump over his corrupt pardons. Which explains why he waited so long to pardon Manafort.
Yes, there is you incredible moron! The power to grant a Presidential Pardon is absolute. That is also not an impeachable offense because it is not a crime.
The pardon itself can't be changed. But if done for a corrupt purpose, subjects the president to impeachment for that corrupt purpose, just like any other crime or misuse of office.

And Trump has been dangling pardons for years. Yet not issuing them until it was too late to impeach him again.

Corrupt purposes? You mean like Clinton pardoning Marc Rich in exchange for campaign contributions? Trump has done no such thing, idiot!

You never pass up an opportunity to show yourself to be an idiot, do you?

Nothing would prevent Ford from pardoning Nixon of any criminal convictions in federal court. His impeachment would have nothing to do with anything.
You already quoted my citation of Article 2 section 3, limiting presidential pardon power in cases of impeachment.

So it appears Nixon knew if he was impeached, that Ford would be barred from pardoning him.

You Communists tried to impeach the president and utterly failed.

You lied, cheated, obstructed justice, fabricated evidence,, had dozens of communist pigs perjure themselves, engaged in flat out treason and still failed.
Troll alert!!

Had Trump pardoned Manafort when he was convicted or sentenced, he would have faced impeachment even sooner than for the Ukraine phone call.

Mar 7, 2019 — President Trump's former campaign chairman Paul Manafort was sentenced to just under four years in prison on Thursday after being convicted ...

The impeachment of Donald Trump, the 45th president of the United States, was initiated on December 18, 2019,

Trump waited over a year to pardon Manafort for a reason.

You have a really fucking overactive imagination on top of your inability to read and comprehend the language. You cannot impeach a President over a pardon, you brainless fucktard!

We already knew you were here, but thank you for letting us know your intentions!

Listen dumbass! He cannot pardon him from the impeachment! He CAN pardon him from any convictions for crimes AFTER he was removed from office. My God, you are as stupid as a brick!

The exception for cases of impeachment prior to the impeachment, as you noted, but after conviction is also guided by article 2 section 3

but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.

If a president could pardon the impeached and convicted, then that violates the "SHALL" requirement. So clearly the only way to reconcile the two clauses is to exclude pardons for those impeached and convicted. And cases of impeachment begin long before conviction.

Democrats, like their CCP counterparts, are going after all their political opponents. After they get Trump, they plan to move on to his supporters. They plan to charge them with treason.

Democrats haven't been the ones prosecuting Republicans. Republicans have prosecuted Republicans. A Republican Justice Department investigated Nixon, and Iran Contra when Reagan was in office. Barr pardons those convicted in Iran-Contra. Mueller, Comey, and even Brennan are all Republicans.

Many people wanted Obama to prosecute the Bush Administration. God knows there was enough corruption with Cheney refusing to put his Haliburton shares into a blind trust, and then giving all those untendered government contracts to Haliburton to supply the Iraq War, and Katrina clean up. The DHS, also created under the Bush Administration, continues to enrich the Cheneys through billions of dollars worth of untendered government contracts. Rumsfeld owned a substantial number of shares in the company which produced Tamiflu. The federal government bought up millions of doses of the stuff for use by the military in the case of a pandemic that never happened. There's a long list.

Obama just wanted to stop the collapse of the economy and heal the nation. He opted spend the nation's resources putting things right, and healing divisions, rather than prosecuting the previous administration.

Republicans have been hounding Democrats since Nixon, trying to pin the levels of crime and corruption on Democrats seen in every Republican Administration since Nixon. In response, Democrats have largely cleaned up the corruption within the party. Are there slease balls like Elliott Spitzer or Anthony Weiner, within their ranks - yes. But these guys were nowhere near the top of party leadership, and they were both held to account and prosecuted.

Trump exchanged pardons for people withholding legal testimony.

Which is actually much worse. As it was an obstruction of justice.

Will you learn to fucking read? The Constitution says you cannot pardon impeachment. Why are you arguing what is written? Your highlighted text just proved me correct, again!

You are a serious douchebag!

Bullshit! You have no proof of that! What testimony?

Are you intent on showing the entire board what a mental midget you are?

That's not what you said a minute ago.

You mean like Clinton pardoning Marc Rich in exchange for campaign contributions?

You clearly understand the concept, but disagree with which political party you are willing to apply it to.

For what, Herr Himmler?

You vile traitors have tried to rape him for 5 years and failed.

Bullshit. Trump has been assraped multiple times, and he keeps on coming back for more. The first one was when Congress and the Senate passed a veto-proof law saying that Trump could not lift sanctions against Russia without the Consent of both the House and Senate, keeping Trump from fulfilling his promise to Putin to life sanctions after the Inaugurations, as conveyed by Gen. Flynn to the Russian Ambassador in the telephone call that resulted in federal charges.

He got ass-raped in the 2018 elections which handed the House to the Democrats, and make no mistake, Democrats wanted Trump impeached. Trump's own actions ensured that it would happen, even as Democrats decided not to impeach for the Obstruction of Justice charges coming out of the Mueller Report.

He got ass-raped bigtime in the 2020 elections, which will see him tossed out of office, and finally, subject to criminal charges on ALL of his corrupt and illegal acts while President. No President has ever been punished for corruption and criminal behaviour while as President, but then no other President was a corrupt criminal before he was elected either.

Trump did no such thing! Congrats! You are too stupid to carry on a debate. I recommend you end this thread now before you REALLY show your room temp IQ?

Trump dangled pardons to everyone charged by Mueller. He called those who signed Plea Agreements and who cooperated with the Mueller Investigation "rats", and threatened their families, and promised to take care of those who didn't turn state's evidence. He tried to permanent jail and muzzle Micheal Cohen, and others who refused his offers. Rick Gates, who did cooperate with the FBI, but didn't directly implicate Trump, has not been pardoned, but Stone, who lied to the FBI, Congress, and committed perjury in his trial, has been pardoned.

So then traitor Barry got assraped in 2014 when he lost the house?

Or it could be that you're just a hack.

You traitors staged two attempted coups, but in the end needed China to help you defraud our election in order to seize power.

As well he should. The entire Wiessman team should be charged with treason, obstruction of justice, malicious prosecution, tampering with evidence, ad infintium.

It's all contained and meticulously documented in the Mueller report.

On January 25, 2019, Stone was arrested at his Fort Lauderdale, Florida, home in connection with Robert Mueller's Special Counsel investigation and charged in an indictment with witness tampering, obstructing an official proceeding, and five counts of making false statements.
In November 2019 a jury convicted him on all seven felony counts
