On other media as well, but this one is not behind a paywall. The Trump run DOJ has awarded Trump a $1.8Bn settlement fund as part of his dropping his case against the US Government.

DoJ confirms $1.8B 'lawfare' fund as part of IRS deal

The United States Department of Justice announced on Monday that acting US Attorney General Todd Blanche (pictured) created "The Anti-Weaponization Fund," which will receive $1.8 billion from the judgment fund to "provide a systematic process to hear and redress claims of others who suffered weaponization and lawfare." The establishment of the fund was part of US President Donald Trump's settlement agreement to drop his $10 billion lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

The fund will be authorized to issue formal apologies and provide financial compensation to claimants, with any remaining funds after the program ends reverting to the federal government. Filing a claim will be voluntary, with no partisan criteria required for eligibility, and the fund will also submit quarterly reports to the attorney general detailing recipients and the type of relief granted. It will also be subject to audits at the attorney general's direction.

What's the "slush" part?

This is just an outright fleecing of taxpayer dollars that I expect the next administration to claw back.

Its run by a commission controlled by Trump.
The commission is actually controlled by the Attorney General and Congress. And it's already $$ Congress allocates to the DOJ every year.

Funny, but doesn’t change the fact that Trump is in control of the fund and there’s no oversight.
LOL And Trump is in control of the brand of toilet paper used in the national park bathrooms in Idaho. When will this authoritarian nightmare ever end?

Did you just come here to troll?

They approve the $$$ every year. THey get to pick one member.
One out of 5 means that Trump controls all decisions made by the board and anyone who does anything he doesn’t like can be fired at any time.
