Increasing Taxes On The Wealthy And Corporations Is Extremely Popular And Has Been For Years

And there is the problem, with this country, that there are so many clueless idiots who actually believe this about the kleptocrats.
Ya, building infrastructure and creating good-paying jobs will be horrible for the American economy.

The point is that you're so damn stupid and brainwashed that you actually believe that Biden's policies are going to create, rather than destroy jobs, and help build our infrastructure.

You're a gullible sucker who has fallen for a mediocre scammer.

A Gallup tracking poll only buttresses the findings of those surveys. Over the course of several years, Gallup asked people whether they thought certain sectors of the country paid their "fair share" in taxes. Bottom line: Americans haven't thought that "upper-income" individuals and corporations have paid their fair share for many, many years.

Here's how many respondents said upper-income people don't pay their fair share:
  • 2019: 62%
  • 2018: 62%
  • 2017: 63%
People were even less impressed with the contributions of corporations:
  • 2019: 69%
  • 2018: 66%
  • 2017: 67%
Given that reality, Senate Republicans up for reelection next year might just take a pass on heading up opposition to Biden’s eventual bill unless they can find an entirely different point of contention. But by all means, McConnell, keep on crowing about Democrats raising taxes on wealthy individuals and corporations to pay for making high-speed internet available in rural areas. Hear, hear!

But don't worry, that money will trickle up to you, when we get it. No really.
But if Bidens infrastructure avoids building roads for cars in favor of "public transportation" he'll lose big league

The stimulus details were popular, though

The GOP is and always has been about lower taxes for the rich

So says the resident Marxist demagogue who uses vague terms and applies whatever meaning to them needed to realize their 'collective' insurrection needs and demands.

Following that “logic” I guess we shouldn’t tax corporations at all.

You were being sarcastic, but in most cases, I think that corporations that re in the business of providing goods and services to consumers should not be taxed. The “logic” is correct; any taxes on such corporations only end up getting passed along to the consumers in the form of higher prices and reduced availability, or to the workers in the form of lower wages and fewer jobs.

Even to the degree that it is the corporations themselves that bear the burden, its really the shareholders who are hit; and contrary to popular myth, shareholders doesn't mean mostly idle rich men who contribute nothing to society; but working-class or retired former working class whose retirement assets are invested in mutual funds, which, in turn, are invested in those companies.
Oh sure. Let’s take Amazon. They use all sorts of public services to get their products delivered, but they shouldn’t pay any tax. WTF!

It really doesn't matter whether corporate taxes are raised..... they still won't pay any taxes. Too many loopholes and prices would skyrocket if they did pay.
Very true. The tax code is set up to benefit big corporations. Some make billions in profits yet pay no tax. What a deal...yet more proof we live in a failed state.
No Federal Taxes for Dozens of Big, Profitable Companies

Yeah, depreciation is awful!!!!

DURR
Lol. Yeah it’s just depreciation that allows big corporations the ability to pay little to no tax. WTF!

Amazon should have to pay extra because they are part of the political cancel culture. And yes, if they are using public services (like USPS) they should have to pay. They will pass that increase along to their clients who might think twice about paying their service charges.

Again, as I said, it's ultimately the consumers, employees, and shareholders who end up bearing the burdens of those taxes. Much more honest to tax them directly, than to hide the tax in a corporation where those who are actually being impacted by them don't see it.

It depends on whether you are on the side of the people, or on the side of the kleptocracy. I guess we know on which side you stand.

Why don't you post the reason?

Use actual examples if you have them.

The U.S. tax code is intrinsically slanted against high earners. They not only pay MORE than those who earn less, but usually MULTIPLES of what lesser earners pay (although FICA taxes are a perverse exception). So a family with a household income of $250k pays not five times what a $50k household pays, but ten times as much (math may be a little bit off, depending on particulars). For lesser earners - many of whom pay nothing or nearly nothing in FIT - to be whining about how "rich" people don't pay "enough" reflects an infantile attitude that one would condemn in a six-year-old.

The one thing that the GenPop doesn't understand is that VERY high earners have the ability to manipulate their taxable incomes significantly, because they are business owners and investors (e.g., Donald Trump). When the truly high earners perceive that that tax rates are "confiscatory" they start playing games to avoid the taxes altogether. When a poor or middle-class person envisions a "rich" person or a high earner, they think of movie stars and top level athletes, but those individuals are not typical; actually, they are the ones who suffer the worst when tax rates rise.

The basic Democrat narrative in recent years has been, "We will give you a ton of free stuff, paid for by SOMEBODY ELSE!" The "free stuff" changes from one generation to the next. Now it is free college and forgiveness of college loans (which is a taxable event, if you are paying attention), free medical care, free food, shelter, and child care, and so on. In fact, FREE MONEY!!! The "someone else" takes the form of saying, "No one earning less than four hundred thousand dollars a year will see a tax increase." That is a blatant lie, but Democrats are not going after the three-digit IQ crowd. No indeed.

As for taxing corporations, good luck with that. Only an idiot believes that when you increase corporate tax rates from 22% to 28% there will be a dramatic increase in corporate tax revenues.

No, wait! Democrats ARE idiots! They BELIEVE that shit!!!

Senate republicans are the reason it's never passed.

Amongst short-sighted idiots. Those increased taxes trickle down to the consumers in the form of higher prices and less capital investments.
We all know that is true, but the left is satisfied with lying to themselves.

Taxes are a transfer of power, from "we the people" to the government.
