They don´t grant their people much political freedom, sure. But the article reveals she has been in prison before and went on hunger strike before. Looks like she hates the government and wants to make it look bad. That was apparently her intention when she went to Wuhan. To blame the virus on the government. The article also reveals that while the other critics were vindicated regarding Corona by China´s top court, she got 4 long years of prison. We can assume what she did wasn´t criticism, but indeed picking quarrels and provoking trouble. And on top of all, she´s on hunger strike again, close to death, wants to make herself a Martyr by suicide. A mad person, China should have mercy, declare her mad and put her in a hospital.

A female tennis star, a reporter, doctors and nurses who blew the whistle early on Covid were all imprisoned or killed. No one should shill for the CCP, it has nothing to do with their people. She may have an attitude, but imprisoning people tends to make them do that.

Authoritarian yes, but violating human rights, I don´t know. They even had a TV show interviewing inmates just before their execution. They have another view of human rights. But they are respecting them. For example there are houses in roads:

The government wants to build a road but the owners refuse to leave. They are not jailed, even can stay. Instead, the road goes around it.

However, this is pointless and some day the owners accept.

The question is why do you mind? China does not hurt us. And there are many regimes. If you insult the Thai King, you go to jail for up to 86 years. Yet, our relationship with them is fine. Why do you care, you have your system and they have theirs. And you won´t change it, no matter what you say or do.
