Hurricane Laura Rips Down 'South's Defenders' Confederate Statue In Lake Charles, La.
Protesters had asked the parish to remove the prominent memorial this summer, only to be turned away two weeks ago. Then came the hurricane.

"Hurricane Laura walloped Lake Charles, La., Thursday, the controversial [Confederate] statue was toppled by one of the strongest storms ever to hit Louisiana. Just two weeks ago, the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury – similar to a county commission or council — voted to keep the Confederate monument in its place next to a large oak tree at the courthouse. Protesters had asked the parish to remove the prominent memorial this summer, only to be turned away — prompting talk of an economic boycott. Then came the hurricane. To resident Renee C., who didn't want to use her last name out of concern that her employer might not approve, the downing of the statue is one of the only bright spots from Laura's tumultuous visit to Lake Charles."
Luckily the storm wasn't as bad as the liberal media hoped -- but clearly the single most tragic event to come out of this storm so far is the damage to that great Confederate monument...Hopefully it will be quickly put back in its rightful place so the South can rise again... and I hope they find out whoever that Renee C. woman is so she can be fired for her disgusting comments...
