How is the Selma rally different from a KKK rally?

How can anyone take a positive of Selma and compare it to the hate of the KKK.

If the KKK were gone tomorrow the world would be a better place.

People need to get a grip.

Because those people in that march turned it into nothing more but hate filled stunt. Just like they have corrupted Martin Luther King day and what he stood for. I believe MLK would be ashamed of the way Obama, Holder, Sharpton, etc is causing more hate than good by using the black people for their own ugly agendas.

The klan hates blacks and the selma loons hate whites?
What's the difference? Well, for one thing, you'd probably get better Republican turnout at the KKK rally.
We're not welcome at democrat functions like the KKK.
Sure you would, they are conservatives and not Dems.
And that is how it is taught in secondary school and higer education.
The argument will never end. We keep going around in circles. If you think the Democrats of 1965 are the Repiblicans of today with the same vicious hatred of blacks that democrats expressed, you're full of shit. The parties never switched. Racist democrats were not about to join the party that gave blacks the vote and civil rights.

Actually, most black race crimes are ignored by the media. They sort them under just a random meaningless crimes. Funny about that, the same standard of proof gets short shrift when it comes to whites harming blacks. Racism this. Racism THAT. This thread is about the bloody Sunday Selma march in 65'. Ok. But that doesn't make black hate crime any better.

Think MLK would be proud of racist effort to prevent Blacks from voting...get real whitey

Southern trees bear a strange fruit,
Blood on the leaves and blood at the root,
Black body swinging in the Southern breeze,
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees.

Pastoral scene of the gallant South,
The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth,
Scent of magnolias sweet and fresh,
And the sudden smell of burning flesh.

Here is a fruit for the crows to pluck,
For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck,
For the sun to rot, for a tree to drop,
Here is a strange and bitter crop.

From Billie Holiday's 1938 song Strange Fruit.

Your revisionism is not taught in secondary schools and college, never will be.

Your evil story telling will go into the grave with you and your ilk.

After living with blacks for a number of years, blacks ...I love them. But I can't stand this blame whites stuff, racism THIS, racism THAT. Slavery ended over a 160 years ago, it's done. Vietnamese or Mexicans come here 25 years or so and they thrive, no fault finding, they get on with. Blacks are stuck in the past....Get over it. Selma is in the past. Slavery is in the past.

Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE), the fraternity that was kicked off of the University of Oklahoma’s campus Sunday night after video emerged of some of its members singing a racist chant that celebrates lynching, proudly touts its history on its website. “Sigma Alpha Epsilon is the only national fraternity founded in the antebellum South,” the fraternity’s national webpage explains, adding that the frat was “[f]ounded in a time of intense sectional feeling” and that it initially “confined its growth to the southern states.”

Though SAE had “fewer than 400 members when the Civil War began,” 369 fought in the Confederate army. Only seven fought for the union.

The video that thrust SAE’s University of Oklahoma chapter into the national spotlight certainly has echoes of the old South. It consists of a segregationist refrain repeated over and over again — “there will never be a ni**** in SAE” — interspersed with an allusion to the campaign of terrorism white supremacists once used to maintain Jim Crow rule in the South: “You can hang ‘em from a tree, but he’ll never sign with me.”

An African-American man lost his federal contracting job due to trumped up charges:

For example, in the summer of 2012, a 32-year-old African-American man sat in his car cooling off after playing basketball in a Ferguson public park. An officer pulled up behind the man’s car, blocking him in, and demanded the man’s Social Security number and identification. Without any cause, the officer accused the man of being a pedophile, referring to the presence of children in the park, and ordered the man out of his car for a pat-down, although the officer had no reason to believe the man was armed. The officer also asked to search the man’s car. The man objected, citing his constitutional rights. In response, the officer arrested the man, reportedly at gunpoint, charging him with eight violations of Ferguson’s municipal code…because of these charges, he lost his job as a contractor with the federal government that he had held for years. Really? What has that to do with anything, Mr. Pedantic?

MaryL, quit acting like a racialist, please.

Your character is better than that.
