In fact, even if we pretend it is true, I think statements like that are counter-productive. Electricity can come from different sources.

If you want non-polluting, non-fossil fuel-based electricity, you have Hydro: the environmentalists refuse to allow any more dams to be built so that's out. Nuclear: the environmentalists refuse to allow any new reactors to be built and are pushing for existing ones to be decommissioned, so that's out. Solar: low efficiency and only works part of the time, so that's not practical. Wind: even lower efficiency due to losses in moving parts and works even less of the time, so that's not practical.
