Gazprom Reveals Hope for Nordstream.

One important point to be made is that Russia did it themselves, it's going to be a very hard sell convincing Europe.

As the suspicion that America did it to aggravate the situation at Europe's expense, becomes much more likely.

We should expect America to find evidence such as a bottle of vodka left behind at the scene of the crime.

If Russia did the damage, it's rather strange that they would be interested in a fix for the situation as winter approaches Europe.
Although there may be a gas shortage in Europe right now, there is no shortage of Russian bullshit delivered via RT. Nord stream 2 has never been in operation because of the sanctions, so by repairing Nord stream 2 and not Nord stream 1, Europe would be forced to cancel the sanctions that kept Nord stream 2 idle all these months in order to get any gas.

Typical Putin stupidity. Clearly it was Russia that damaged both pipelines so Putin could try to pull off this caper to reduce sanctions.

Gazprom isn't Putin. Russia needs to sell gas to Europe.

Gasprom is controlled by Putin and does whatever he tells them to do. It was Putin who told Gazprom to only accept rubles instead of dollars or euros for gas, thus violating the contract Gazprom had signed. Putin is trying to use oil and gas sales to Europe to break up the solidarity of NATO and get relief from sanctions.

In fact, Gazprom isn't controlled by Putin or Russia.

Gazprom is in the oil and gas business. I suppose they have to agree with Putin or they might fall out of a window. The fact remains that Russia needs to sell gas from Western Russia unless they plan to flare it off.

Good. Putin is not an oil executive. Weaponizing energy is not a good policy.

Putin seems to think it is mor important to use Russian gas to threaten Europe than to sell it.
