If oil prices or inflation was just an issue in America, then I could see why the opposition are twining, but it's a global issue. I think if the majority of Americans actually got a passport and visited countries beyond their doorstep, American forums would have better quality comments. One thing though, the West is weakening itself with this stupid climate crap. And I see the Netherlands is activating it's energy crisis plan by lifting a cap on production by coal-fired power plants as it looks to reduce reliance on Russian gas due to the war in Ukraine. You would think, "Crank up the wind turbines and solar panel further", but renewables are useless, they're just a trickle charger and shouldn't be relied upon.

So if I was a large oil company, I would screw the consumer out of every penny too.

Supply and demand. Socialism is fantastic, well, on paper but not in practice. If the human race relied on socialism, technology wouldn't be anywhere near advanced due to zero incentives. Why work for little?

I was just saying to the girlfriend, many have organised their lives to rely on cars, trains, and gas and electric to heat and cool homes. So much so, they feel it's their God given right to have them, to the point it's government fault when paying for them gets tricky. I remember the days as a kid, if you were cold, you put a jumper on. You could see your huff in the bedroom air.

A friend quit her job of 22 years, she lives 15 miles away. Due to the cost of living, getting a job in walking distance, the drop in wage is more than offset by the savings in commuting. Everything goes full circle, and as more people do the same, or local community shops open.

I'm not bothered about oil price, the cost of diesel is just added to the customers bill. So a £200 job now means they pay £260 etc..

Maybe governments will wake up to realise nuclear fusion is the way forward, rather than trying to harness the large nuclear reactor in the sky with solar panels.
