Am I sold on tariffs? Not really, IO am sold on taxes about as much as I am tariffs, but like taxes they are there to feed the bureaucracy as world bureaucracies of various countries go to war with each other.

Now what really hurt the world economy was the Left shutting down the entire world economy while Joe Biden was in power, something no one will ever own.

Tariffs have been working great for foreign countries because our leaders prior to President Trump have let America be the world's trade patsy. He is clearly using tariffs as a big stick to put the foreign countries on notice that the America Patsy days are over.

Businesses and markets care about money, not politics. They first thought Trump was going to be very business friendly, which is why the market did so well after the election.

Now the market doesn’t know what the **** he’s doing and they don’t seem to think Trump knows either.

Targeted tariffs when justified are a legit tool to use to protect certain industries being hurt by product dumping by other countries. Chinese steel coming in through Mexico is a good example. trump's mindless sledgehammer approach, based on a misunderstanding of how tariffs work and who ultimately pays for them, is destructive.

We aren't taxing them, we are applying tariffs, which is one of the enumerated functions of the federal government.

the fix is getting them to the bargaining table on a host of issues related to our trade and our mutual borders.

Tariffs are taxes. No difference. And Trump already bargained with them last term and made a deal. If there are trade issues then he hasn’t addressed it as all he and his admin are talking about is the border.
