Enough with the Trump tariffs are destroying the economy threads

The world economy shut down while Trump was President
Trump mostly let states do their own thing.

This meant that conservative governors like DeSantis tried to give as much freedom as possible and those in democrat run states like California were being arrested on the sidewalk for not wearing a mask.

Trump made the mistake of listening to the "experts" because he was not one.

We see where this got him, and he has learned from it

Problem is, if we had another Pandemic, democrats would want to do the EXACT same thing they did last time, because they never learn from history, which is why they are all socialists.

Of all places, the country of Sweden stood alone and continued life as normal as they could, and they were just fine.

You should try reading the initial point and the response before making yourself look foolish.
You are the dopes defending this nonsense.

Because dear leader can’t be wrong.

Trump wanted none of the blame for COVID
That is why he let governors take the heat

Given the havoc Trump's tariffs and trade policies are having on the markets, these threads are only beginning.

Trump's tariffs, other than against China, have no rhyme or reason. Trump negotiated a new trade agreement with Mexico and Canada only a few short years ago for heaven's sake. Trump's tariffs against Canada are especially insidious as there may be a sinister ulterior motivation behind them. i.e. to bring down the Canadian economy.

As the economy tanks, Trump should not and will not receive a pass for his horrendous trade policies.

That's how our system works via federalism.

The Feds can provide guidelines, and help with funding, and MAYBE impact inter-state travel, but beyond that their power is on the borders.

Because the trade issue regarding excessive tariffs on US goods has been around for decades, and he is the only one who seems to want to fix it.
So you’re pretending this is all about dairy products? Really?

it's not the only product and the punishment is to eliminate fentynal coming into country. Have they accomplished that?

That's just one of the most egregious examples.

Do you support American dairy farmers over Canadian ones?

or Canadian ones over US ones?

I just want those who bitch about trump start bitching about any country doing it against us. Let's start there and work our way forward. Until then, these bitchy people can bite me.

Trump was blamed alone for Covid, which is absurd.

First, he tried to hold China to account for hiding the Pandemic and not sharing information about it, as everyone dumped on him as a Chinese bigot. China was restricting people coming into China so that more of the Pandemic would not be brought into China, but let their own citizens fly all around the world to spread the Pandemic.

Then Trump tried restricting planes from flying from China to the US and he was declared "xenophobic" by pricks like you. I also saw people like Nancy Pelosi parading around Chinatown in San Fran telling people there was nothing to fear about the virus.

But when the virus arrived and started killing people, all we heard was how Trump was not tackling the Pandemic enough as they held him accountable for every single Covid death. Meanwhile, Trump worked behind the scenes to try and get a vaccine rushed though. Then right before the election he told everyone a vaccine would be out soon, but then had people like Kamala and company saying she would not take a vaccine Trump helped create.

However, Trump then lost the election, and a few days afterward, Big Pharma comes out with the vaccines. Coincidence? Did they purposefully wait will after the election a few days? I think they should have waited at least a month to make it seem a little less suspicious.

But once the vaccine had hit the market, there was Kamala and Joe taking all the credit for the vaccine and waiting in line to get the vaccine, telling everyone needs to get it or lose their jobs and be shunned as science deniers.

Disgusting.

And now he is correcting that oversight.
With universal tariffs? Thats stupid. As referenced by the stock market decline and fears of a recession. Further, he said it was because of drugs. Then he said it was because of trade. then he paused it. Then the next day he announced more tariffs on Canada.

As part of his initial position for negotiation on all this.

Is there one country who does not employ tariffs?

No, yet we are all led to believe that Trump is destroying the world economy with his tariffs via Legacy media.

Are tariffs good for the economy? Not really, because it is just a tax and taxes never help an economy, which is why Trump and the GOP need to follow his tariffs with tax breaks for Americans to help improve the economy.

Tariffs are simply economic warfare between countries that everyone does.

In fact, Joe Biden even kept some of Trump's original tariffs when he took office. In fact, Joe Biden increased them.

Am I sold on tariffs? Not really, IO am sold on taxes about as much as I am tariffs, but like taxes they are there to feed the bureaucracy as world bureaucracies of various countries go to war with each other.

Now what really hurt the world economy was the Left shutting down the entire world economy while Joe Biden was in power, something no one will ever own.

Gotta love the Left!

Do you think they could address the billions, on top of billions they taxed, spent, and caused massive inflation on, for the Green, New, Scam? It was OK to do that to the American public, but not ok to raise tariffs to force manufacturers back?!?!?!

Just like Reagan, Trump is between a rock, and a hard place. Reagan had to do what he had to, because before him was good ole Jimmy. Trump has a predecessor worse than Jimmy was. It is going to take a while, but we must remember it took 4 years for Biden and crew to fu** it up! If I remember correctly, it took Reagan about 20 months to come out the other side. It will probably be somewhat quicker under Trump, since money flowing in to expand will be much greater. Reagan had to get existing industries mostly already here to grow. All Trump has to do is bring back production already happening elsewhere. And how does he do it? By lower tax if the product is built here, and no incoming tariff!

You can’t come up with many examples because the weighted average of Canadian tariffs is less than 2%.

This is going to hurt Americans and the economy far more than it’s going to benefit the sliver of the country that are dairy farmers.

Even though the market is down again today due to China's 105 q-bit chip reveal and tariffs going into effect....
We are still 6+% above the 200 day moving average.

Which is a win. I expect a drop to 4700's for the S&P 500 in a while....it's a completely new market. Resetting the switches.
