20 People in Florida Facing Voter Fraud Charges: Gov. DeSantis

Multiple people throughout Florida who'd been disqualified from voting because of felony convictions are facing voter fraud charges, Gov. Ron DeSantis said Thursday.

DeSantis made the announcement during a news conference at the Broward County Courthouse in Fort Lauderdale.

Some of the 20 people facing charges were from South Florida and were convicted of murder and sexual assault, which prohibits them from having their voting rights restored, DeSantis said.

"That is against the law and now they're gonna pay the price for it," DeSantis said.

The arrests are among the first investigations and enforcement actions undertaken by Florida's Office of Election Crimes and Security.

DeSantis said if convicted they face up to five years in prison.

Republicans, unhappy with this development, passed a rider to the law that all "fees" from their convictions had to be repaid first, and some of these "fees" had "interest" accruing since their convictions. The fines some of them would have to repay were often between $10,000 to $50,000, all but disqualifying many former felons from voting.

Good......Most of those high amount "fees" as you call them were from those felons that were ordered to pay restitution to their victims, back child support, plus their fines and court costs.

The Democrats are bad about voter fraud and we don't want the Democrat districts in Florida to become like districts in other states where the Democrats get away with massive fraudulent ballots like we saw in 2020, do we?

With DeStantis running the show we don't have to worry about massive fraudulent mail in and harvested ballots like we saw from the Democrats in 2020 in other states. We don't have to worry about the Republican candidate being thousands of votes ahead and then the voting stopped and hours later thousands of ballots magically showing up putting the Democrat ahead like we saw in 2020.

In 2020 the weak Republicans let the Democrats get away with stealing an election. DeSantis is not going to allow that to happen here in Florida and that is a good thing for the people of Florida, like myself.
