He could have fixed it without closing down the economy, that's the point. He could have made sure that the country was ready to isolate outbreaks. This is what South Korea did, this is what Germany did, and they haven't had anywhere near the numbers of cases or deaths we've had, despite having closer economic ties with China.
You have no idea what you're talking about. First of all, we have more than twice the population than those two countries combined. Secondly is the FACT that not everybody knows when they have this thing. It's called asymptomatic. It's the biggest concern of our medical people in the federal government.

It could have been here weeks before we even knew about the first case. We have no idea. Besides asymptomatic people, other ailments are similar to a cold or perhaps mild flu, which many people don't go to the doctor for.

Okay, that has little to do with Trump. The fact is, the government itself is very good at what it does. The problem was, these things all should have been done in January, not the end of March.

Oh, the US just passed up Italy. We NOW have the most deaths from the virus than any other country. "we're number one! we're number one!"
Italy has less than one-fifth of our population. Also, doctors in Italy wanted to know why the sudden drop of people with heart attacks, diabetes, kidney failure, and so on. They average X amount of deaths for all other medical conditions per month, and all of a sudden, it dropped off!

So they quit counting deaths that were not the direct cause of COVID-19. We are not doing the same. If you go to the hospital, die of a heart attack, and your blood work comes back as having the virus, you are categorized as a COVID-19 death.

Well, we could all be like you, be a little bitch, bend over and take it up the ass when your boss steals your health insurance (don't worry, you'll blame the black guy, because that's what a racist does).

Now, going back to that first job after the Army. Um, yeah, that was probably the last time I bothered to tell an employer they were doing it wrong. They were out of business completely by a year after I left. You can't fix stupid, but man, Have I seen a lot of stupid management in my career.
According to you, you had problems most anyplace you worked.

Good for you, if you get the virus, which I hope you don’t, then you can tell them ahead of time that you don’t want the malaria drug no matter how bad you get because of your politics.
I wouldn't want anyone who supports Trump's quackery working on me, thanks.

The auto industry, the hotel industry, tourism, airlines, restaurants, furniture sales, construction, concert venues, sporting arenas, real estate, resorts where 80% of there sales are in the summer, Amtrak, you name it, they are all in trouble. We are now in a world wide recession and heading for a depression.
yes, we are.. Thanks Trump.
Had Trump shut down earlier or later a shut down either way destroys the economy. Your obsession blaming him either way is just you being you.
Any way you look at it......It is Trumps economy

He was willing to ride to victory based on a strong economy. He will fall in defeat with a crashed economy.
The electorate aren’t as shallow as most partisans.

The point is, other countries contained this thing without shutting down their entire economies. They didn't dither for three months like Trump did.

Yeah, I like my job and love doing what I do and who I work for, I’m appreciated and comped well for my efforts and skill. If I want another job, I know I’m well liked and well skilled. I can get a job with almost any company in my industry.
Checking if I care.

Talking purely DEATHS here.

Let's take Germany. 2871 deaths, 125K confirmed cases. They contained it.
South Korea 211 Deaths - 10K confirmed cases. They contained it. Given their close proximity and ties to China, not to mention their population density is greater than ours, that's kind of amazing.

Trump dithered for 3 months, had a lot more warning time... We now have 20K Deaths and half a million confirmed cases.

Funny how that works. Just a few months ago, it was Obama's economy according to you.
Trump was perfectly content to ride the Obama economy and take full credit.

Now he is finding out how that credit works.
And you were perfectly content calling it DumBama's economy until A WORLDWIDE PANDEMIC destroyed it.
Trump spent his whole life being born on Third Base and bragging that he hit a Triple

Now he gets to see what life is like when you are handed a shit sandwich.

I'm sure it's not his first time, nor will be his last. Apparently he's prepared to take it head on. You people on the left never listen to others who have worked with Donald Trump in the past. He loves a challenge. The bigger the challenge, the more he loves it.

Where do you get this three months from? Trump responded on January 30th when the WHO advised the world of the problem.

Like I said earlier, the numbers are fudged. We consider any death where the deceased had COVID in their system a COVID death. Other countries are not doing that.

If it was fun to be there, they wouldn't have to pay me.

You'd show up to your job if they didn't pay you? Really?
Every company has to pay you for labor. That's the law. What you mean by "they didn't pay me" is that they paid you what you were worth, not what you thought you should be getting.

If that were the case, then every company should be required to do "Salary Transparency"... and let us know what they are paying every employee from the CEO to the Janitor.

They wouldn't like that idea very much, though.

We knew that Covid-19 was going to be a problem in 2019. That's why it's called "Covid-19". Corona Virus Discovered in 2019.

Let me help you out.

The virus is thought to be natural and have an animal origin,[66] through spillover infection.[217] The origin is unknown but by December 2019 the spread of infection was almost entirely driven by human-to-human transmission.[181][218] A study of the first 41 cases of confirmed COVID-19, published in January 2020 in The Lancet, revealed the earliest date of onset of symptoms as 1 December 2019.[219][220][221] Official publications from the WHO reported the earliest onset of symptoms as 8 December 2019.[222]

Several measures are commonly used to quantify mortality.[223] These numbers vary by region and over time and are influenced by the volume of testing, healthcare system quality, treatment options, time since initial outbreak and population characteristics such as age, sex and overall health.[224] In late 2019, WHO assigned the emergency ICD-10 disease codes U07.1 for deaths from lab-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection and U07.2 for deaths from clinically or epidemiologically diagnosed COVID-19 without lab-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection.[225]

Trump was told this was a problem in 2019. He did nothing until the middle of March 2020.

This is why we have the most cases and deaths, and we aren't even close to flattening the curve yet.

Trump faced those challenges in the past by lying, cheating and making promises he can’t keep.

Back it up?
I live in NJ. I saw what Trump did in Atlantic City.

I saw the tax concessions, the public investment, the empty promises made by Trump.

Trump built his casinos as a house of cards with shaky financial backing. He promised untold jobs, investment in the Atlantic City community, promised his personal investment.

It was all a lie and Trumps house of cards collapsed

This is the man we trusted to be President
