Russell is an Australian that married a Russian woman and now they live outside of Moscow.

Russell travels around to different areas of the Moscow region showing real estate, retail shops, parks, schools, grocery stores, restaurants, and all sorts of neat places in and around the Moscow region of Russia.

It's very interesting to see how another country operates. In many ways, we are so similar.
Too bad our governments can't get along.

I enjoy Russell's videos, and they show aspects of Russian life that few Americans have ever seen. The amount of new construction of apartment buildings is astounding, given Russia's expensive foreign adventures these days.

What strikes me most about the lifestyle he describes is MY OWN obsession with my "stuff"! These Russians - even well-off Russians - live in nice apartments with a lot of closet space and wonderful amenities, but...

…where do they put their off-season clothing, their lawn and garden tools, their tools to work on the car, their golf clubs, tennis rackets and bowling balls, their family heirlooms and boxes of jewelry???

They don't seem to have or need all this STUFF that I feel I must have to exist as a middle-class American.

And I can't stop myself from writing…Russell is a troll, physically speaking. He is fat and gross, and looks like a well-fed homeless person. I wish he would clean himself up.

Everybody is different. I'm sure he keeps himself in as good a shape as he can. I mean, the man WALKS all over the place, and only rents a vehicle when going to out of the way places public transit doesn't reach.

Some humans have the DNA to keep weight off normally. Some of us do not. And even others have DNA where it makes it near impossible to lose weight at all.

As for "stuff"......unlike materialistic Americans........most of the rest of the world only buys what they NEED. So there is very little wasted money, wasted space, and waste in throwing stuff away you never used for 20 years.

He is fat, and he grooms himself in a way that makes him look like a homeless person. Neither of these things is outside his control.

But these are secondary. He is intelligent, at least bi-lingual, informative, and provides a valuable service to others. I am a beneficiary of this service. Some of my best friends are fat and gross.

I understand that.
I doubt he IS gross though.

I've worked with people who are nasty beyond reason, but they'd give you their last dollar if you needed it.
Most of these "gross" people have been those who work pretty much all the time though. Day, night, weekends, holidays.
Two, three, four jobs at once.....trying to keep their heads above the homeless drowning line. Sad really.

I worked with one young guy that never got any sleep. How he didn't kill himself, I will never know. He worked two fulltime jobs, and was looking for a third job on the weekends. He was newly married, and his wife was pregnant. He wanted to make as much money as possible to put down on a house before the baby came, to get out of their little apartment. Super sweet guy, was always tired as hell though. So tired he didn't eat much. I felt so bad for him.
